Equal rights, the thing that people have had to fight for in history. They shouldn't even be something that people should have to fight for. But some people just decide to not let someone do something just because of their color, how ridiculous is that? But thankfully we had people in this cruel world who stood up for the colored people, whether they were also of color or just believed everyone should have equal rights. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. (or for short MLK) Was a colored man who wanted to fight for the rights of colored peopel, but not by using violence. Instead, he sould go to peacefully protest and boycott. A man similar to MLK is a guy named Malcolm X, who also was of color, who helped in this time of discrimination, but didn't want a boycott, just wanted to help the people of color build their economy. But both MLK and Malcolm wanted the same thing. Rights for the colored people.

They both made impacts in the black community and they both stood up for their race. MLK and Malcolm did have their differences. Like MLK wanted to boycott and picket, while Malcolm did not. What led up to MLK making a speech, was to make the point that you should be allowed to work anywhere no matter your race. In addition to protesting, MLK felt that he needed to get the word out even more, so he delivered his famous "I have a dream" speech. What led up to Malcolm's speech was almost the same reasons for MLK's speech. He also was very determined to get the blacks employed and have an economy. So as a black man, he wanted to stand up for his and every black person's rights. MLK changed history by giving his speech, and by protesting and boycotting. And Malcolm X changed history by starting the black community and getting them jobs and income. Both of these men will always be leaders in the black
