This paper will look at people and if they are good, bad or both. The chosen person to be looked at is Pablo Escorbar who was a major drugs kingpin and leader of the Medellin Cartel who smuggled cocaine from Columbia into North America. It will go into his upbringing and his family life and where he was born and raised, also, the things he did in his life to become one of the most wanted men in the world, how he made his fortune and was on the Forbes magazine rich list of billionaires during the late 1980’s. He then moved on from stealing the headstones to stealing cars. This is where his life of crime progressed to bigger and more serious activities in the underworld and leading him to becoming a smuggling kingpin. He was one of the most wanted criminals in the world and was wanted by the American Government for extradition. It is alleged that in the early seventies he was involved in a kidnapping of a Medellin executive who was held to a ransom for $100,000, according to (Unknown, 2016). All these acts were some of the bad things he did in his life. He later on progressed to smuggling cigarettes into America from Columbia and the route he used to do so would be how he began to start smuggling his cocaine. It is thought he was smuggling up to 70 - 80 tons of cocaine a month into America and this had a dramatic effect on the American population and had a helping hand in destroying hundreds of thousands of people’s lives. It is said he did a lot more than the Columbian Government to help the poor and he is still loved my many people to this day in Medellin. He often handed out money to them, he also built housing for the poor and numerous hospitals, churches and schools all across Columbia so poor children has a chance of being educated and have a future and access to medical treatment, if need be . Another thing he did was fund football leagues and teams, (Bowden, 2001 pg113-114). He did this so people could have pleasure as well as shelter and medical assistance and churches for them to practice their religion.
