Introductory
The Tasmanian Devil is an endangered, native Australian animal which can only be found in the state of Tasmania. Although the Tasmanian devil only grows to the size of a small dog, their vicious temperament is what gave them their name of the 'Devil '. They are predominantly black with one or two white stripes on their neck and lower back. They have large sharp teeth, which enable them to tear meat from the carcasses of other animals. The Devil was first endangered in the early 20th Century as a result of hunting and trapping, although the species then became protected and soon began to repopulate.
