Resilience (Topic Sentence) Resilience is the only thing that can fix something wrong. (Background Info) Jamie Nabozny learned a lot about resilience when he was a kid. He was tormented constantly because of his sexual orientation. He was so violently beaten that he sometimes could not go to school. Resilience was not something he acquired easily from a young age. He had terrible things happen to him and nearly killed himself. As he went on through Ashland High School and later life, Jamie was able to recover easier. Eventually, filing a lawsuit against his bullies. (Attention Grabbing Sentence) Jamie once said: “I am never going back… I would rather die than go back to school,” to his mother when he had ran away the first time. (Thesis Statement) In Bullied, Jamie teaches viewers that resilience is a very important quality to have when fighting for what you believe in.
