Not Always Rainbows and Butterflies

Respect is so important in our society, yet some people lack respect. For an example, I am going to use a personal life situation. My dad left my family when I was young. He moved to Minnesota and got into some bad trouble. It started with painkillers, over the years it got way worse. My dad has messed up so much and has let me down so many times. He never calls me or sends anything, not even on my birthday. My mom does not have any respect for him, she asks me why do I care about him so much and all he does is let me down. I don’t care what my dad has done or that he left, when I get the chance to see him I am so happy, I show him that I haven’t given up on him. Even though he has committed a few crimes I still believe he can stop. I give him all my love and support because no one else has respect for him. When most people see a homeless man or woman they label them with the name hobo or bum. Imagine yourself in their shoes, how would it feel to be ignored. To show them your respect maybe go through a drive through and get them a small meal. If you are running to the store, you could make them a small donation bag with food, water and if they do not have shoes and you want to be super generous then maybe get them some shoes. If they are begging don’t say something rude like get off the streets or climb back into the hole you came out of, just be nice smile and wave at them. It’s not their fault they ended up like this and they are trying to get back on their feet but, maybe they just need a little bit of help. When you give to some of the homeless people, they just take it. Some homeless people keep begging even when they don’t need to, but that doesn’t mean you have to be cruel to
