The young, carefree protagonist, Cecile, fears the loss of ordinary life, a carefree, misbehaved life to the uncertainty of the future of her father with a sophisticated, well-mannered fiance to guide her fathers decisions of what Cecile is to do in her life. Cecile perhaps fears more the loss of the true love of her life, her father. As long his romances are senseless and carefree, I believe that there there is nothing that will threaten their dynamic and love, however Cecile doesn’t see it that way. The possible competitor Cecile sees as the invader to herself and her fathers relationship is her soon-to-be stepmother, Anne, as the intruder. People trying to be true to themselves, meanwhile not completely sure of themselves.People feeling the initial powers of youth and its parallel of being completely helpless. People trying to find a balance between being responsible and or carefree. People trying to clutch onto youth, fearing for all the horrors of responsibility of coming into adulthood.People making the first steps for love and all kinds of sacrifices for that one person that they truly love. The author has intended to illustrate the different feelings that someone can have and how far someone will go to save something that truly love even though you don’t 100% support their decisions, an example of this is how Cecile is willing to take advantage two people feelings , two people, who adore her and love her and will do anything for her just to satisfy her needs. I believe that that is just cruel, as she is willing to just hurt people like that, even though it is because she wants to save her relationship with her father she shouldn't of use people then just throw them away like, she doesn’t look at all of the consequences of her actions and that is what I dislike about
