In president Obama’s speech “ Remarks by the President a National Address to America’s Schoolchildren.” He informs those who are currently attending school, but more specifically those who are probably in high school. Obama’s intentions are directed to older students because as they mature into an adult, they learn to take on more responsibility. This speech is effective as he utilizes rhetorical techniques in a professional style to effect the persuasion of his speech. The claims he makes are responsibility, contributions and the effects of education. To begin, a strong claim that Obama addresses is responsibility, he specifically integrates that every student in America has some responsibility.
