Rick Grimes Vs Shane Walsh The Walking Dead TV series is a great show with well developed characters. Two of the main characters in the first few seasons are Rick Grimes and Shane Walsh. They are a part of a large group fighting to survive the zombie apocalypse in the south, battling not only the undead but other survivors as well. The first few seasons begin to show holes in the group, and how Rick and Shane are different. In the more recent seasons, after Shane died, Rick changed. It is at this time that the similarities between the two characters surface. One of the biggest differences between Rick and Shane is that Rick has a family. Before the apocalypse Rick and Shane were both cops, so both of them have similar skills. They were trained how to shoot, and how to deal with various situations. In the later seasons Rick makes rash decisions that changed people’s lives, and even killed a few people, without any thought. Rick stopped being the good cop and began to see the world and the people on it as more dangerous. When Rick’s wife died, he began to go insane and became very angry. He spends a day just killing zombies with no brake and when Glen, another member of the group, tries to talk to him Rick just ignores him and continues. Rick is not with Carl when he needs him most. This is when Rick starts to lose some of his good qualities and takes on the bad qualities that Shane had. Rick Grimes and Shane Walsh are two characters with very different characteristics in the first few seasons. Rick is thoughtful, caring, and makes good decisions, and Shane is reckless, dangerous, a liar and killer. After Shane dies, and eventually Lori, Rick begins to change. Most of his good qualities were destroyed and he begins to seem more and more life Shane. Overall, Rick and Shane are not totally
