Robert C. Solomon was a man who was lived his life to the fullest due to the fact he was born with a hole in his heart; he ultimately succumbed to the defect in his heart in an airport of all places.
Born in 1942, Solomon was brought up in a normal household where he’d pursue a B.A. in microbiology. Although he obtained his medical degree, he’d find himself working in the philosophy department. While working within the department, he’d receive his Ph.D in 1967, and ultimately find himself move around from university to university until he found the love of his life, Kathleen Higgins.
Solomon was described as a very brilliant individual who was very passionate about a variety of subjects; A multitude of his works would soon start to publish. Although he published a variety of works, most philosophers knew him best for his work within continental philosophy. Some of the most notable individuals he talked about were Nietzsche, Hegel along with the German romantics. His excitement didn’t just stop at books, he also greatly enjoyed giving lectures about the topics he wrote about--most notably to university students and business people--his favorite subject being philosophy.

The main focus for a lot of these papers were to help point out Solomon's main ideas of spirituality where it’s steeped in passion. His definitions of spirituality was the thoughtful love for life itself combined with a reflective orientation of emotions.
