Imagine if someone saw their house burn down with his family in it while looking out the window at school. That exact same event happened to a boy named Robert Cormier. He had a very rough life and this is one of the many examples of that. He eventually beat his challenges and he had a very successful writing career.
On January 19, 1925, in Leominster, Massachusetts, Robert Cormier was born. His dad, Lucien Joseph Cormier, who was a factory worker and was married to Irma Margaret Cormier. To start it off, he wrote commercials for a local radio station. That was Robert’s his first job (“Robert Cormier”). His first poems that were published in a newspaper called the Leominster Daily Enterprise, he also earned money for each poem he wrote that was published (“Robert Cormier”).
