He watched an innocent individual die and because of this Latimer was punished since his act was wrongful in the eyes of society. Euthanasia is seen as merciful killing by society? But why? Some say Latimer's actions could be comparable to the act of euthanasia, since its perceived as a compassionate homicide. Doctors and nurses, are totally committed to saving lives. Because to me doctors are there to save lives and cure people. They may ease suffering of an ill but by killing one's life to escape him from the suffering is not morally correct. A life lost for them is almost a personal failure, an insult to their skills and knowledge. Euthanasia as a practice might alter this. It’s going against the Hippocratic Oath that all doctors fulfill. The oath basically states doctors must never be involved in the killing of people because after all, they have been trained to ensure that people are able to recover from their diseases and injuries. Life is a gift of God and it should be taken as a blessing rather than to end even if it becomes burdensome. Even if someone wishes to die they should keep their hopes in God and should keep on living as this suffering will be rewarded in the life
