In the Supreme Court case named Carroll v. Carman, the two police officers Carroll and Roberts were investigating a report that an armed man named Zita had stolen a car and went to hide in the house of Andrew and Karen Carman. When they arrived at the house, they found there was no parking and went down a sidestreet that led to a gravel parking area. They parked in the first spots at the rear of the house. They approached the house and saw a sliding glass door that opened onto a deck. They knocked on the door and Andrew Carman came out and refused to answer their questions about Zita.
In the State of Texas v. Cameron Todd Willingham case, smalltown Todd Willingham was convicted and put on death row after being unjustly convicted of setting his house with arson and murder. The police’s preconceived opinions of him played its role in this case. However, when clouded judgment is involved mistakes are made. In this case, the results may have been an innocent man's life was destroyed and he ultimately died because of it. Police took his lack of injuries and the fact that he never tried to re-enter the house to save his kids as evidence in their case against him.
The year was 1972, young distance runner sensation Steve Prefontaine was competing in his first Olympics in the 5k. A photographer captured the essence of what Prefontaine was really about during his race. The grit and grind of his training all captured in this single photo of Prefontaine. Using different elements of photography like focal point, lighting, and framing the photographers picture allows us to take a deeper look into the picture.
In the past 15 years the lobster catch has tripled in volume. Walter Day suggest that fishers should be able to continue fishing the way they have always fished and be left alone. Shorts are lobsters that are too small to eat and eggers are lobster that are carrying fish and in turn will be marked with a letter V on their tail and should be thrown back in the water. Over sized lobsters must be thrown back because they are super studs that produce bumper crops for the young. Other was lobster men protect the crop is by following tight guild lines like a strong no cheating policy, summer Sunday's no fishing days, 800 trap policy, and must hold an apprenticeship.

With reference to the sources and your understanding of the historical context, which of these two sources is more valuable in assessing the response of northern opinion to the Dred Scott decision? The argument of Extract 1 is that the Dred Scott decision was constitutional, Unionist and fully ‘rebuked’ Northern abolitionism. Although this Extract is of some value, this value is significantly limited in terms of assessing the response of northern opinion to the Dred Scott decision. The Richmond Enquirer notes that the question of slavery had been ‘decided emphatically.’
"History inevitability", "Dred Scott Case" which is the immediate flashpoint of American Civil War, can be avoided? If you bring a case to the court today, you will get a fair trial, because equality has become a social consensus. However, what would happen if an American slave bought a case to the court for freedom-seek in slavery-legal period? In fact, he had no rights to get freedom for he was not regarded as an US citizen or even a human being. "Dred Scott Case" is not an occasional misunderstanding in that case pronounced by the United Supreme Judicial Court.

The Rehabilitation of Jonathan Wayne Nobles The friendship of two men, one free from the constraints of alcohol and drugs and another still facing the consequences, torn to pieces by the hands of an injustice punishment, the death penalty. In the essay, “A Death in Texas,” Steve Earle explains, through his friendship and final moments with prisoner Jonathan Wayne Nobles, how the death penalty is not a way to bring justice and how it is a cruel and brutal form of punishment. Throughout the essay, Earle tries to illustrate how Nobles was rehabilitated and undeserving of the punishment he received, which is where many controversies lay. The question is, was Jonathan Wayne Nobles truly rehabilitated?
The Dred Scott Decision & History Dred Scott was a African American born in 1795 (1800) to a slave family, in Southampton County, Virginia. Dred Scott was owned by Peter Blow and his family who later moved to Alabama then to Missouri. In the year 1832 Peter passed away Scott was then bought by an army surgeon Dr. John Emerson. In 1836 Scott fell in love with Harriet Robinson, Dr. Emerson bought her and they soon were wed. Soon after Emerson took both slaves and his family with him to the states of Illinois and Wisconsin both of which were free states at the time. John Emerson most likely didn't see this to be an issue since he did not consider himself to live in the state, only to be stationed there.
In general, I don’t believe that juveniles can be born evil or bad. Environmental factors carry a lot of weight when it comes to how children develop and grow into adults. However, in the uniquely gritty case of Willie Bosket, I believe it’s safe to say that if there were ever a case of a child being “born bad”, then Willie definitely meets the mark. When looking back at his lengthy family history filled with extreme deviance and outright violence, you can quite easily see that Willie fits right into the mold that was created long before he was even born. I think that a lot of Willie’s violent and criminal tendencies were learned from what he was exposed to while growing up.
The zombie world is set to go on vacation as “iZombie” is ready to make its season 2 finale debut. Is Rob Thomas coming in to eat (fake) brains? If I had the opportunity to share a meal with any figure from American history, I would choose Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, the only female recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor and one of the first feminists and dress reformists. One of the reasons I admire Dr. Walker is her ability to fight through prejudice. Dr. Walker lived and worked during the Civil War. She was denied a place as a doctor for the army because of her gender. After three years of volunteer work, she was given a position as a civilian contract surgeon for the Union.
