In the novel Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry friendship is one of the most important things. The novel is by Mildred D. Taylor and follows the life of the Logan Family and how they are connected to their friendships. Friendship means to have an attachment to people that you care for. They believe that no matter what they should be treated the same as anyone else, so that is why they were not always true with each other. The relationship between the kids in the novel show that there were still good friends out there.
Let us start off with the Logan Family. The story is in Mississippi, 1933 during The Great Depression. Stacey’s best friend is T.J. When T.J cheated on an test at school, Stacey took the blame. Stacey is walking to school with his younger siblings. When stacey finally got to school his Mama tells the class that there is a test today. T.J is worried that he will fail and he already knew that there was a test today so he made a cheat sheet.
