One may say he changed the Roman Empire and influenced the spread of Christianity throughout the empire of Rome. After Constantine held the Edict of Milan, he sympathized with the Christians and it was then legal for someone to be openly Christian in Rome. This was a turning point in Western civilization that would change the course of Christianity dramatically.
Almost everyone in that time looked at the Catholic Church to explain the world around them and had faith completely in the churches. Most of the art in this era were focused on Jesus Christ and had deep religious

During the Middle Ages, sculptures were less realistic, and typically of higher beings that were not human. However, during the Renaissance, that changed. Sculptors had a firmer grasp on drapery, as seen in David, anatomy, and perspective.
Sculpture specifically focused on both human potential and achievements, plus the human experience. Firstly, the Greeks often sculpted humans instead of animals or monsters, which is human-centered enough. When they did sculpt gods or goddesses, these deities were anthropomorphic, having human characteristics. Classical sculpture used nudity to depict the ideal human form; subjects were often young male athletes or soldiers, epitomizing human potential and achievement. Hellenistic sculpture was more realistic and emotional, where the subjects were everyday people; this style focused on the struggles included in the human experience.

Early Christianity positively impacted the Roman Empire before 300 AD because it gave hope and promoted stability. Although Christianity had a rough start and people had a hard time excepting Jesus, there were other Biblical figures that were able to spread the Word and Christianity, for example, Paul. Also, Christianity expanded by the interchanges of the Roman Empire, in which they experienced spiritual growth. Many people were becoming accepting of Christianity and became leaders and workers in the church.
Byzantine artwork was strongly rooted in Christianity. We know this because most of the works of art created in the Byzantine empire portrayed a character of importance to the Christian religion. Byzantine Art had a very distinct Christian influence; this showed how much they valued the Christian religion. Because she showed up in most of the artwork, the Virgin Mary had a very distinct influence on Byzantine artwork. The Virgin Mary is the center point in many Byzantine works of art.
Christians enriched Roman theology and art through cultural interactions. Culture was dramatically changed due to the transformation of religion to Christianity. Emperors constructed many new temples in honor of Christianity. The architecture puts a greater emphasis on the interior and the meaningful visuals instead of the exterior like they used to do. Churches provided social services like schooling and medical care.

Unlike Christian art and Jewish art, Islamic art refers to any artistic piece made in an Islamic country but not necessarily religious art. Conceptually, it is a new term created in the 19 th century to help categorizing the artwork formed in an Islamic country. One of these artistic landmarks is Taj Mahal, located in India, made of ivory-white marble in 1632, to house the tomb of the Mughal Emperor’s wife. A crucial form of art that developed in the Islamic world is Calligraphy- representing the Quranic verses. It is also known not to represent humans and animals in its paintings and sculptures.

Numerous amount of cultures and time periods we 're established in history from art. Some include the Greek, Roman, Early Christian, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque time periods of art. During each of those time periods, new artistic styles were created and transformed.
