The Roman empire was a prosperous empire that flourished between the years 27 BC - 476 AD. However, there were many internal and external factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire. Some internal factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire included their financial strains, and the people starting to distrust each other. Some external factors that contributed to the downfall of the Roman empire include constant pressure from the northern world, and Rome’s army not being able to compete with other armies.
China’s Han dynasty and the Romans valued technology in their civilizations, but they used technology for different reasons to accommodate their empire. The Hans relied heavily on agriculture and developed technology to make labor easier and more efficient, which is depicted by some of their technology like iron metallurgy and water systems. Rome became the most powerful state in the world by the first century BCE through a combination of military might, political acumen, and economic might. The empire was founded on blood of two brother’s who fought to the death to be crowned King, which lead to the first King of Rome who was named Romulus. Rome won each war, but the result brought more disasters than rewards. In hindsight what didn’t help this struggling Roman system was the split that occurred between the East and West in 285 AD. The ruler at that time, Emperor Diocletian realised that the Empire had grown so vast it was infeasible to govern all its provinces from one seat of power in Rome. Therefore, he split the empire in two, with the Eastern Empire governed out of Byzantium (later Constantinople) and the Western Empire governed from Rome. This split however, was not necessarily healthy for the West. It bore the fruit of disaster and some historians have argued this is the point from which the Empire really began to decline leading to the subtle fall in the West.
The way that Rome created the Republican form of government was by overthrowing the monarchy, There government constructed of leaders -which were elected by the citizens- , in essence the citizens choose the individuals that would essentially govern for them. He played a huge role in how Rome developed throughout the years because of his military contributions that either played a positive or a negative effect on Roman society. At the height of the Roman Empire, the empire was bigger than modern day India geographically, and its influence was felt throughout the world. The fall of the Roman republic has been blamed on many things, elitism, politics and corruption all contributed to the fall of the republic that led to the rise of the Empire.
