The Roman empire was a prosperous empire that flourished between the years 27 BC - 476 AD. However, there were many internal and external factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire. Some internal factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire included their financial strains, and the people starting to distrust each other. Some external factors that contributed to the downfall of the Roman empire include constant pressure from the northern world, and Rome’s army not being able to compete with other armies.
The great Western Roman Empire was considered to be one of the most powerful empires in human history. Rome became the most powerful state in the world by the first century BCE through a combination of military might, political acumen, and economic might. The empire was founded on blood of two brother’s who fought to the death to be crowned King, which lead to the first King of Rome who was named Romulus. By the third century BCE, all of Rome’s power and greatness began to diminish. Rome was falling.
Many people think of Rome as a great empire. Nevertheless, the Roman empire had more flaws than what one would think. Rome began around 750 BCE as a simple town. By 200 BCE, Rome was a powerful empire. The empire lasted for about 1,226 years before its “fall” in 476 CE.

Military is a big part of how countries protect themselves in the world. Many countries have militaries. Some military strategies, weapons, and tactics came from ancient history. The military in Ancient Rome and in Ancient Greece played an important factor in keeping both civilizations safe.
The Romans invited people from the places they conquered to become citizens. These people then became a part of Rome and had equal rights. The Romans also had wars going on, when they fought the Carthaginians which almost led them to
Romans were considered practical, because they borrowed other people’s beliefs, so to speak. It usually was from the Greeks and their ideas or beliefs. Romans allowed other religions in their culture if they made sacrifices to their emperor. Another example they had a simple like writing system and was easy to understand. Finally, Romans had a great belief in morality among their people.
The entering of barbarians into Rome was one of the many events leading to their eventual demise. However, this wasn 't the ultimate intention of most of the Germanic tribes. One of these tribes, the Visigoths, held Rome in high esteem and simply wanted to be apart of the great empire. Many times the germanic people were welcomed into Rome even into the army but eventually too many were coming in and demanding Roman titles.

Even from its earliest days, Rome’s citizen cavalry commanded prestige and respect in the military and political structure of Rome. From the violent days of Romulus, through the time of kings, and through the Republic, the citizen cavalry’s elite role in the Roman army provided a path for wealthy young men seeking to distinguish themselves for future political service. This citizen cavalry served Rome well for centuries before being mostly replaced by allied auxiliaries in the first century B.C. Although it is widely believed that the citizen cavalry declined due to military ineffectiveness, the citizen cavalry actually faded away due to social and cultural changes that affected the organization of the military.
When it comes to empires in the early centuris, there were many different ways to rule. You can try and rule by fear to try and make sure your periphery doesn 't even think of rebeling and swearing absolute fealty. Other ways you can rule is by trying to be more organized and merging your periphery into your system. This is what some imperial states did. They also included a more organized system to make everyday desicions, laws and policies go a little more smoothly.
The Western Roman Empire fell in 476 AD. There were many factors that went into the fall of the Roman Empire. Economic problems they dealt with was one of the main reasons the Empire fell. Since the romans were not doing good Economically they could not fund the military in order to protect them, which also led to the fall of their military. Socio-Political problems were also a factor; there was a decline in interest to public affairs.
The legendary Roman Empire lasted from 753 B.C.E. all the way until 1453 A.D. However Rome split in two at about 395 A.D. which crippled the ancient Rome we know. So really ancient Rome lived from 753 B.C.E. to 476 A.D. But the name of Rome continued on in the Byzantine empire for about another 1000 years. Yet many people nowadays still refer to Rome as one of the greatest ancient civilizations of all time.
