In the first scene, Romeo, Mercutio, and Tybalt were talking. Tybalt demanded that Romeo draw his sword. Hearing this, Romeo says that he will not draw his sword. With this, Mercutio says that he will fight Tybalt if Romeo didn’t. Enraged, Tybalt and Mercutio fight. Romeo, trying to stop this battle, ends up getting between the two fighters. Tybalt uses this to his advantage and stabs Mercutio. Mercutio dies, and Romeo draws his sword and kills Tybalt. In the second scene, Juliet is excited about the marriage between her and Romeo. Then, the Nurse walks in and tells Juliet about has happened. The Nurse stumbles over her words, and Juliet misinterprets and thinks that Romeo has taken his life. The Nurse fixes the situation, telling her that she knows where Romeo is hiding, and that she will talk to Romeo. In the third scene, Romeo is in Friar Lawrence’s cell. Romeo is very unhappy and sad and falls to the floor. Then, the Nurse walks in and tells Romeo that Juliet is fine. Then the Nurse gives Romeo her ring, and Romeo was so happy, and excited. While he was there, they heard noises, like the birds, and Romeo said that he must leave, but Juliet wanted him to stay. Romeo, in a very loving mood, said that he’ll stay beside her. Juliet, fearing of the noise she heard, tells Romeo to go, so Romeo departs, telling her that he loved her. The noises Juliet heard was her mother coming to her room, asking her about how she felt about the marriage between her and Paris. Juliet said that she would not do it, making her parents furious.
