First and foremost, we shall blame Juliet’s parents for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. One example that can help prove this is in Document B in which Lady Capulet talks to Juliet about marrying Paris. In Document B, Lady Capulet says, “The night you shall behold him at our feast”. This quote demonstrates how Lord and Lady Capulet want her to meet Paris so that they can see each other, but instead, she encounters Romeo. If they didn’t have a huge, extravagant party, then Romeo
Romeo's guilt in the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Throughout Romeo and Juliet, it is clear of love's driving force, though Romeo's actions turn love's driving force into a tragic end. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, despite Capulets and Montagues being enemies, the character of Romeo who belongs to the Montagues falls in love with Juliet, a girl who is to marry County Paris and is from the Capulets because of this, Romeo's marriage with Juliet in combination Romeo's actions force many issues, including going against their families' familial and social requirements, as well as resulting in the murder of Tybalt, all leading to the suicides of Romeo and Juliet. Knowing this, in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, it is Romeo who is
Romeo & Juliet: Who's to Blame Did Romeo and Juliet owe their families loyalty more than they owed it to themselves to pursue a romance? Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy by William Shakespeare is about two young teenagers that meet, fall in love then are secretly married behind their parents back. Their parents hate each other and that led to a feud among the Capulets and Montagues therefore leading to Romeo’s and Juliet’s death.
Mercy and Punishment: Romeo and Juliet In the play Romeo and Juliet, the Prince declares, “Mercy but murders, pardoning those that kill.” (Act 3 Scene 1) The Prince reveals that murderers must be punished, otherwise, the authority is responsible for the crime. He also implies that showing mercy to murders will only let other killers do the same act.
Romeo and Juliet is a story that was written to show what family feuds can turn into. So when asked who was to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet I could not give a straight answer and here's why there were many factors involving the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet including Juliet's parents Capulet, Lady Capulet, Friar Lawrence, Mercutio, and Tybalt. Some roles were bigger than others, but all ultimately led to the tragic ending for the two lovers. Juliet's parents were not as supporting of her as they should have been.
In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt is at the most of Mercutio’s death because of his explosive personality and temper, which led to him acting without thinking. In act 3 Scene 1, a tragic and dramatic fight takes place, where Mercutio was struck by Tybalt and as a result, died. This fight came to be because Tybalt came up to Romeo demanding a duel for he was at a Capulet ball. Romeo, being married to Tybalt’s in-law tries to avoid the conflict when Tybalt states “Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford No better term than this: thou art a villain” (3.1.61-62)
Did the fighting between the two families lead to Romeo and Juliet meeting their tragic fate? There are so many people to point a finger at, but a couple stick out like a sore thumb. All in all, the people responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death are Friar Laurence and Romeo and Juliet ’s parents. For starters, Friar
Everything changes when Juliet encounters Romeo at the Capulet ball. Their intense love, at first sight, alters Juliet's actions and loyalty to her peers. When Romeo asks to kiss Juliet she offers other options, but Romeo persuades her to say, “Then have my lips the sin that they took” (1.5.119). Juliet offers her lips to Romeo to kiss him, knowing that it is a sin. God is an integral part of life for people in this time period, and Juliet directly defies him showing her disobedience.
Romeo and Juliet fault for their deaths The deaths of the Romeo and Juliet play of the same name are often attributed to external factors such as the feud between their families or the actions of other characters. However, it becomes clear that Romeo and Juliet themselves are at least partially responsible for their own deaths Firstly, Romeo and Juliet's impulsive decisions and actions contribute to their tragic fate. They fall in love at first sight and quickly decide to marry in secret, without considering the consequences. Their lack of patience and foresight leads them to make crazy decisions that ultimately result in their deaths.
Quotation #11: “Good night./ Get thee to bed and rest, for thou hast need.” (Rom. 4. 3. 13-14) Translation: Good night. You should go to bed and rest because you will need your rest tomorrow (for sex).
In Shakespeare play, "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet", I believe that it is both of the families faults for Romeo and Juliet's death. I believe this because if they wouldn’t have had the feud in the first place, this wouldn't have all happened. They also could've raised their kids in a different environment instead of being involved in the feud their whole lives. My first claim is that if the families didn’t have the feud in the first place, then Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have had to hide their marriage from their families, meaning they wouldn’t have to make a plan with Friar Laurence, meaning that everything wouldn’t be so secretive and risky.
Ultimately Both Romeo and Juliet’s parents are at fault for the deaths of their children. Have your parents ever explained the meaning of love to you when you started dating? Some parents have but most haven’t because your parents probably never got the talk about true love. Both of their parents didn’t explain the true meaning of being in love. A quote from Romeo and Juliet, “Oh, there’s my lady!
Even though multiple people added to the causes of the death of the lovers, Romeo and Juliet themselves can be blamed the most for their downfall. Even though the families hated each other, Romeo and Juliet still got married sparking mor problems. For instance, Romeo secretly tells the Nurse the wedding plans:”Bid her devise some means to come to shrift/This afternoon;/and there she shall at Friar Lawrence’ cell/ Be shriv’d and married. Here is for thy pains”(II.iv.166-169).
With the question you ask, who do you blame the most for the trouble in Romeo and Juliet? I have the answer of, the families. The reason being is that if they never had the quarrels, Romeo and Juliet would of been able to get married and live happily ever after. The story starts off with informing us that there is history between the families, and it’s not a history to recall. “ Two households, both alike in dignity, in fair Verona, where we lay our scene, from ancient grudge break to new mutiny” (Shakespeare, 377).
In William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet fall in love despite their familie’s feud. we all know their love ended with agony, but who is truly to blame for their death? They themselves, or the others around their grave? I believe that the blame of their deaths should be put onto the parents. Parents have always had a impact on their children.
