The People That Helped Them the Most Led Them to Their Downfall. Almost everyone has at least heard of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare wrote a beautiful play about Romeo and Juliet’s love. The love Romeo and Juliet had for each other was too great to measure, but unfortunately could not be together because Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. The Montagues and Capulets have a family feud that’s been going on for ages. Did the fighting between the two families lead to Romeo and Juliet meeting their tragic fate? There are so many people to point a finger at, but a couple stick out like a sore thumb. This action caused a lot of conflict in Romeo and Juliet’s future. Later in the play, the Friar made another huge mistake that led to the downfall of Romeo and Juliet. His plan was rather complex and it only truly worked if everyone knew about it. The plan was to have Juliet take a vial from Friar that would make her appear dead. Because Juliet is “dead,” she wouldn’t have to marry Paris. Meanwhile, Friar John sends a letter to Romeo so Romeo knows Juliet really isn’t dead. Then Romeo could go to the Capulet vault and free Juliet from her tomb. Afterwards, they would live happily ever after. This all sounds really nice and sweet, but of course it wouldn’t work out.
