“Pyramus and Thisbe” and Romeo and Juliet, two tales with alike concepts and both end in tragic deaths. Authors, Ovid and William Shakespeare, make these two stories very compatible even though they were in different time periods. These couples fall in love when they weren't supposed to and the more they were kept apart the stronger their love got. Three aspects that lead to their deaths were; separation, communication, and misunderstanding messages That were sent or revealed to them. This comes to say that love always finds a way. First, the parents of Pyramus and Thisbe did not want them seeing each other. In The tale, there is a wall that separated them from seeing each other. Ovid states, “The hateful wall that separated them had become their means of reaching each other". (947) In comparison to Romeo and Juliet, the ancient grudge separated them from seeing each other. Capulets and montages couldn't stand each other, but the love that Romeo and Juliet shared made them forget about the grudge. The nurse tells Juliet, “His name is Romeo, and a Montague, The only son of your great enemy". Pyramus and Thisbe spoke through a little chink in the wall. In the beginning of "Pyramus and Thisbe", Ovid says, "Also love can always find a way. It was impossible that these two hearts were on fire should be kept part. In the wall both houses shared there was a little chink" (947). Alike in Romeo and Juliet, they communicated through the nurse. She sent messages from Juliet to Romeo and vice versa until they were able to see each other.
