Juliet is a hopeless romantic who will do anything for her lover Romeo; she would even go as far as deceiving her family and friends. In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, we see that Juliet is someone who would go above and beyond for her lover who she barely meets but that doesn't stop the emphasized lust for Romeo. Throughout the play, we see that Juliet gives up everything in order to be with him even if that means she has to deceive her family in the process of trying to be with him. Take for instance when Juliet goes to Friar Lawrence for a solution so she doesn't have to marry County Paris and while with Friar Lawrence she receives a sleeping potion and a plan and now she goes back to her father Lord Capulet to inform him that “ I have learned me to repent the sin of disobedient opposition to you and your behest, and am enjoined by holy Lawrence to fall prostrate here to beg your pardon. Pardon, I beseech you. Henceforward I am ever ruled by you” (IV.ii.18-23). This demonstrates Juliet deceiving side in order to fool her parents into believing that she has finally accepted her role as an obedient daughter. Because she chooses individual needs vs traditions in order to highlight her need to be with Romeo no matter the circumstance. In addition to lying to her family, Juliet also tricks Romeo into believing she has died as a result of that choice. Romeo would later commit suicide as a result of Juliet deceiving acts. Take, for example when Juliet drinks the sleeping potion she did not know this would effects others after taking the sleeping potion her lover Romeo would later come and kill himself because of her deceving acts he is so ready for death that he says “Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavory guide! thou desperate pilot, now at once run on the dashing rocks thy seasick weary bark! Here’s to my love. ⌜Drinking.⌝ O true apothecary, thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die” (V.iii. 116-120). This demonstates Juliet deceiving not only her family but her lover Romeo because Juliet did not realize that her individual choice vs traditions can also hurt people since she has becomed selfish and not thinking of how other would react to her sudden death. Consequently, sinec Romeo was unawer of her plans it is why he killed himself because he believe that she had actually died she single handily not only deceive her entire family and friends but her husband and lover Romeo all because of her individual actions in not wanting to marry County Paris.
