Imagine what the future may be, there could be new technology, new locations around the world, or even a better economy. But to have a good future, It is best to look at the past, because the past shows what went wrong, as well as what went right. In a story written by an iconic writer, William Shakespeare, in his most renowned play, Romeo and Juliet; This theme of the future shows up quite a bit going up against the past; This theme is shown throughout the play, through emotions, the bonds of characters, and most importantly in the conflicts. Meaning that with all of the times future versus past is brought up, it can definitely be the main theme of this story. The predominant subjection in Romeo and Juliet is a repeating theme of future versus past.

With the feud, it causes outcomes that are terrible for everyone including, with the death of loved ones. For example when the character Tybalt of the Capulet family dies, he died because he picked a fight with a Monague, the Monague in question being Romeo. Which is a crucial example of how the past is affecting the way of life; Which shows that there is a connection to the past having something to do with the theme of the story Romeo and Juliet. However how does the future play apart, well it is because some of the other actions that have taken place are ment for a better future. One case of a character doing this is Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet. Lord Capulet wants his daughter, Juliet, to marry a rich,wealthy, handsome person called Paris, and we know this because Lord Capulet says “How, will she none? Doth she not give us thanks? Is she not proud? Doth she not count her blessed, unworthy as she is, that we have wrought so worthy a gentleman to be her bride?” (Romeo and Juliet 3. 5. 142 - 145). To
