Shakespeare is a well know writer throughout the world. His plays are able to capture many emotions ranging in love, hate, anger, or revenge. Romeo and Juliet are his most popular plays. It is a tragic love story about to two lovers. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet are ill-fated star-cross lovers destine to end in disaster because their family feud, Paris and fate. The Capulet and the Montagues are alike in many aspects but hate keeps both families apart. “Two households, both alike in dignity,In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean” (Prologue.1-4).Romeo and Juliet love each other but their names keep them apart. “O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name” (2.2.33-34).This shows that Romeo and Juliet should not be in love as both their families are sworn enemies; Juliet wishes Romeo name would be anything else except for Montague. Paris is the ideal man for Juliet because he has a high social standing, handsome and comes from a wealthy household. This makes it likely that Juliet’s parents are going to marry her with Paris rather than Romeo. The Nurse acts like a mother figure to Juliet this makes her advice valuable to Juliet. The nurse states that “A man, young lady! Lady, such a man as all the world- why he’s a man of wax” (1.3.77). This shows that Juliet may consider Paris, as the Nurse whom opinion she values, approves of Paris. In addition, Juliet’s parents approve of Paris and think highly of him. “So shall you share all that he doth possess by having him, making yourself no less.” (1.3.95-96).
