Many people believe that it was love at first sight from what Romeo says about her when he first lays eyes on her. For Example, in Act 1 Scene 5, Line 50 he says ¨Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight, For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.¨ So thinking about this now it was not love at first sight. Rosaline was the first girl Romeo truly loved and once he started to fall out of love with her because Rosaline didn't return his affection and decided to shun men altogether he wanted to move on. Adding on to that Romeo couldn't have just flipped a switch and turned his love off for Rosaline that fast it takes time to get over someone. Once they got to know each other it's understandable they started to fall in love but not at first sight before they knew each other it was just the appearance that caught them off, guard. But he knew that appearance was all he needed when he saw Juliet because he automatically knew she was the one and ended up being correct even if it didnt end the way he wanted
