When someone bakes a cake, they can add little bits of flair. Flair. Like in the batter of a vanilla cake, someone could add little bits of strawberries or sprinkles like explosions of color coating the mouth while they eat. So many surprises when the cake is baked at the end. Never knowing what will happen. Anything can be added, but sometimes things don’t turn out how people think they should. This is just like in Shakespeare’s writing in “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” when he carefully selects amazing literary elements in the story. Their death is foreshadowed by poison at the end. A person is using poison and magic as a way to foreshadow by saying,“Within the infant rind of this small flower poison hath residence and medicine power for this''(Shakespeare III.I.23). Either Romeo or Juliet is being talked about. Hinting at the end of the story when Romeo gets killed, Juliet is saying she could kill Romeo with her actions as she stated, “Yet I should kill thee with much cherishing” (Shakespeare II.ii.184). Juliet is afraid she might kill Romeo by her actions. Summarizing the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, there are many cases of foreshadowing used in Acts 2 and 3. Moreover, there are many uses of dramatic irony throughout the play. Dramatic Irony is being used because the audience knows she is taking the potion early, but Friar Lawrence does not. Juliet is taking the potion to sleep like she is dead for “Two and forty hours, and then awake”(Shakespeare IV.i.105). The potion is supposed to keep her asleep to make it seem like she is dead, but she is not. The audience still knows Juliet is not dead, but Romeo doesn't and the Friar gets worried.
