1. Shakespeare was truthful and accurate in the play Romeo and Juliet. During the time of the play, there was a bubonic plague. This plague was killing millions of people, destroying families, and causing there to be many fights amongst families of wealth. During the final Scene of the play Friar Lawrence caught the plague and he ended up not being able to transfer Romeo a message about the faked death of Juliet.
Have you ever wondered how life was like when schools were only for the privilege and Kings still ruled over cities. Well Romeo and Juliet tells of just that. In the story a man and a woman meet and instantly fall in love, but both of their families are in a fued which causes plenty of bloodshed and ultimately the death of the two lovers, now the question is who is to blame for the blood loss and tears shed for them? The first thing that came to mind was the feud between the two families.
Friar Lawrence made the potion and made the plan to get Juliet out of the arranged marriage by faking her death. Friar did not think clearly when he made the plan. He went for the “quick fix” by just getting Juliet out of her family completely. The reason Friar married Romeo and Juliet to begin with was to unite the families, but by taking Juliet out of her family and making them believe she had died caused more sadness for the Capulets and no solution for the feud. Even though fate and destiny bear some responsibility for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, the impact love had on their brains is to blame since it possessed them and made them take more risks. When Romeo and Juliet first fell in love with each other, their love possessed them, which influenced them to make the decisions that led to their deaths. For instance, in a TED Talk titled “The Brain in Love,” Helen Fisher explains how romantic love can cause one to lose their “sense of self” and not be able to “stop thinking about another human being” (Doc C). This describes how romantic love can possess one, causing them to make poor decisions they wouldn’t normally make.
Romeo and Juliet’s deaths are caused due to the scientific nature of love, and its ability to change someone as well as being young and reckless. Being in love can cause fully developed adults to forget who they are and what they stand for. As the author of Doc C states, “Romantic love is an obsession, it possesses you. You lose your sense of self.” (Doc C).

Seeking to flee her father’s demands about marrying Paris, Juliet ran to Friar Lawrence in pursuit of a plan, or else threatening to take her own life. Once Friar Lawrence finally gave in to Juliet’s pleas, he comforted her by saying, “Let not the Nurse lie with thee in thy chamber. / Take thou this vial, being then in bed, / And this distilling liquor drink thou off” (4.1.92-94). This proposition made the entire Capulet family believe that Juliet was dead, but unfortunately it was not passed on to Romeo in the right means, which made him believe that Juliet was truly dead.
He came up with the crazy plan that led to their eventual death. Since he didn’t make sure that the information about the plan was delivered to Romeo on time, it caused a lot of confusion. After Juliet woke up and saw that Romeo was dead, Friar Lawrence left her alone in Capulet’s tomb instead of making sure she wouldn’t do anything dangerous. After the ball, Juliet tells her parents that she doesn’t want to marry Paris because she is too young, but the truth is, she is already in love with Romeo. Romeo and juliet were under the stress of their family's.
