The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is about two teenagers from different families, falling in love with each other. Their families, the Capulets and Montagues, are very fond of each other and there is a strong sense of hatred between the two families in the atmosphere. The love between Romeo and Juliet is strong. They hope that if they are together, the families will stop all of the fighting and learn to be friends with each other. Throughout their efforts, the families raged on and wouldn’t listen to either of them. Even though the families didn’t listen, Romeo and Juliet still loved each other and would do anything and everything to stay together and hopefully get married. Tybalt was frustrated and killed Mercutio on the spot. Mercutio was one of Romeo’s good friends and he came back to kill Tybalt. Later on, near the end of the play, Paris was going to kill Romeo, but he killed Paris first. He didn’t want to do that because he was a friend of Juliet’s. Romeo considered him a brother, but that was the only option if Romeo wanted to live. Going into the tomb, Juliet still wasn’t awake; therefore, Romeo laid down beside Juliet, drank poison, and instantly died. Just as he was gone, Juliet awoke. She was heartbroken and could live without him; so, she killed herself with a dagger. The death of Juliet triggered to the grief and death of Lady Montague. The characters that died, caused a tragedy by losing all of these friends and family members within an instant. These deaths completely changed the story. The nurse found Juliet “dead” on her wedding day, Romeo killed Paris and then himself. If the Friar wouldn’t of came up with this plan, then the story would have ended differently. Before Juliet “killed herself”, she didn’t know if Romeo would come after her or not. She just believed in her heart because she loved Romeo that much. When Romeo heard the news of Juliet’s death he came back to the city to see her that last time. That’s also when he figured out that Juliet and Paris were getting married.
