In the heart wrenching story of two lovers, Romeo and Juliet, the question of responsibility for their untimely demise lingers in the air. Romeo and Juliet is a very popular tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It tells the story of two young lovers from feuding families in Verona, Italy. Romeo is a Montague, while Juliet is a Capulet. They fall deeply in love at first sight and a few days later get married in secret. However, their marriage is doomed from the start due to the ongoing feud between their two families, the Montagues and Capulets. This family feud is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet through the way their families hated each other, causing deaths, and Romeo and Juliet needing to do everything in secret due to all of this. Tyalt, a Capulet, then continues, “What, art thou drawn among these heartless hinds? Turn thee, Benvolio, look upon thy death” These two foes have never gotten along given by the way they spoke to each other, not scared to mention death. Romeo and Juliet knew this. Right after they found out they were a part of opposing families, they viewed each other differently. However, that didn’t stop them from loving each other. Instead, they did everything in secret, leading to their demise. In the end, this feud did include death, but not only Romeo and Juliet s. In Act 3 Scene 1 of the play, right after Romeo and Juliet get married, yet again another battle breaks out between the Capulets and Montegues. This time it was between Romeo and Typal, Juliet's cousin. Initially, Romeo tried to stop this fight but then after he saw Mercutio dead due to Tybalt, he felt like he had to fight Tybalt. Ultimately, Romeo kills Tybalt, leading to Romeo’s banishment from Verona. If this battle had never happened, Romeo wouldn’t have been banished.
