In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, it talks about two star-crossed lovers who were supposed to have a feud, but instead fall in love deeply. They both met at a masquerade for Capulets, which Romeo snuck in to supposedly see his old love until he saw Juliet. They both fell in love and would meet each other secretly. A day after, they both decide to get married and have a priest named Friar Lawrence to perform the wedding, but a terrible battle hits when Juliet's cousin Tybalt finds out that she was in love with a Montague and demands to battle Romeo, but it does not end well. Tybalt kills Romeo’s best friend, Mercutio, and Romeo kills Tybalt. Therefore, Romeo was banned from Verona and had to leave. This left Juliet vastly upset to the point …show more content…

This made Juliet desperate to end her life, so she only had one hope, who was Friar Lawrence. He was able to come up with a plan which was for Juliet to fake her death so that Romeo could save her, so he gave her a potion that would get her into deep sleep. Friar then sends his deliverer, Friar John to send his letter to Romeo, which never happened, Therefore Friar John is to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death. One example from the play was that John was instructed by Friar Lawrence to deliver a letter to Romeo about the plan of Juliet's “death”. Friar John was sent to Mantua to give the letter to Romeo until he was stopped by health officials and had to stay inside a house with people who were infected by a deadly plague (Act 5). This evidence clearly proves that if Friar John found another way or kept going, he would’ve sent the letter to Romeo on time so he could sneak inside the cell and save Juliet.
