This quote by Mary Roberts Rinehart especially applies to Romeo and Juliet, for the love they had for each other was ultimately their downfall. Friar Lawrence only played a minor role in their deaths. In the end it was Romeo and Juliet's fault due to them already knowing it was nearly impossible for them to be together, yet they still chose to risk it. Furthermore, Romeo and Juliet were reckless, the Montague and Capulet feud, and Romeo and Juliets false concept of love. First and foremost, Romeo still went to the Capulet party knowing the risks. Not only that, Romeo snuck into the Capulet's garden knowing that if he were to be discovered it would be his ruin. On another note, after Juliet found out she was being forced into marrying Paris, her first thought of escape was killing herself without stopping to think of another solution. And finally, when Romeo was alerted of Juliet's death, he immediately decides to go buy a poison from an apothecary so he can kill himself. …show more content…
