Shakespeare's tragedy play Romeo and Juliet is about Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two star-crossed lovers doomed to die because of the feud between their families. Although there are many people who can be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, the person with the most blame is Juliet for reasons such as getting married without permission, not running away with Romeo when he was exiled, and threatening to take her life to Friar Lawrence if she had to marry Paris. Juliet getting married without permission was just the start of everything. Although Juliet was in love with Romeo, she should never have gotten married to Romeo without permission. Juliet not running away with Romeo was something else Juliet should have done. Juliet's failure to run away with Romeo was big because if she had, she could have avoided the whole ordeal of marrying Paris. If Juliet was willing to kill herself then surely she should have just ran away with Romeo when he was exiled so they could live together, especially since part of Friar Lawrence's plan was for them to live together away from Verona anyways. Instead, Juliet decided to fake her death and put people who cared about her in despair. It can be argued that the real blame is on Friar Lawrence because he is the one who made the plan and failed to get the plan to Romeo. But that is not true. Although it is true that he made the plan, the only reason he did that is because Juliet was saying she would kill herself if she had to marry Paris. You cannot blame Friar Lawrence because he was doing his best to help Juliet. Juliet’s parents were always going to be in despair because Juliet would have killed herself anyways, so Friar Lawrence was just trying to make the best of a doomed
