Friar Laurence and Mercutio are to blame because when Mercutio was killed, Romeo avenged him. Once Romeo killed Mercutio’s killer, Tybalt, he was banned by Prince Escalus. Friar Laurence is also to blame for many reasons, one of those reasons being that he married the two thinking that it would end the feud and not their lives. One of the other reasons is that he married Romeo and Juliet too quickly, and did not think of the outcome besides ending the feud. Mercutio is to blame not for only getting Romeo banned but also for Romeo meeting Juliet.
Romeo and Juliet is a play about star-crossed lovers. Romeo is apart of a high class Montague family; their rival is the Capulet family. Romeo falls in love with the daughter of Lord Capulet. William Shakespeare portrays Friar Lawrence as unrealistic, dishonest, and irresponsible. In Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, two main characters Romeo and Juliet, who are supposed to be sworn enemies but end up falling in love, follow a tragic love story. Due to their families ongoing feud and dishonest acts of trusted people, they can not be together, so they kill themselves because they feel as if they can not be apart from each other. At the end of the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo drank poison which killed him and Juliet woke up to see Romeo dead next to her, after words she killed herself with a dagger. So who is to blame for the death of romeo and Juliet? I think Friar Laurence is to blame. This is because he gave Juliet the sleeping potion. He also failed to tell romeo about his plan.
One would think the people to blame are Friar Lawrence, Balthasar, and fate/Romeo. For Friar Lawrence there is plenty of evidence to point it is him who did it. As for Balthasar well he had a small part, but it contributed a lot to the events that occurred. Fate well let’s just say that it didn’t go Romeo’s nor Juliet’s way. These are the people to blame and here is why.
The key reason that Friar Lawrence is at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet is because he was the priest that married the young couple, and kept their unbreakable love a secret. They came to the priest asking for a life together and pure serenity, in which resulted in a catastrophic death. To support my claim, Friar Lawrence is the primary target because of the secrets he kept from everyone. Friar lawrence should have never agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet.
Every day, people make rash decisions. These rash decisions bring about many unfortunate events, but rarely death. Because of Friar Lawrence’s immensely important role in Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence’s rash decisions bring about many unfortunate events. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence causes Romeo and Juliet to die a tragic death because of Friar Lawrence’s rashness and lack of good judgement. In Romeo and Juliet, the tragedy written by William Shakespeare, both Romeo and Juliet killed themselves, but others are to blame. The Capulet family, Friar Lawrence and Tybalt all share blame. The Capulet’s share blame for the deaths because they were uptight and did not support or care about Juliet’s feelings. As an example, when Juliet told her father that she did not want to marry Paris, he said, “To answer, “I’ll not wed; I cannot love, I am too young; I pray you pardon me.’
Will Romeo and Juliet’s tragedy be justified to one person? These two star crossed lovers will get married, but there are big problems with their relationship. Their families don’t get along and their parents don’t know about them. As, Juliet’s father is planning on marrying her to another guy, her father does not know about the relationship. Friar Lawrence is someone to blame for this tragedy of the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
The end of this story isn’t pretty, so whose fault was it? Friar Lawrence is the character most to blame for the tragic events in Romeo and Juliet because he was the character who assisted throughout the entire situation that Romeo and Juliet had. He agreed to marry the young lovers even though he was aware that their families were feuding, and he aided in Romeo and Juliet
“A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life” (DBQ: Project, 2013), which puts an end to an ancient feud between their families. William Shakespeare is the writer of Romeo and Juliet, a play about Juliet, who was born a capulet, Romeo, who was born a Montague, and their feuding families. Romeo and Juliet met, fell in love, and were secretly married, despite Juliet being betrothed to another man, Paris. As a ruse, Juliet fakes her death, which eventually leads Romeo to take his own life. Juliet sees Romeo dead, and stabs herself with Romeo’s dagger.
I believe that many characters contributed to the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet but i think that the highest contributor was Friar Lawrence because he got them married so quickly and secretly. This was the main contributor to the problem that escalated out of control so quickly. My first reason for believing this was mostly friar lawrence’s fault is because he got them married which is irreversible and caused so many problems because it was a secret. Where this started to become a real problem is when Paris tried to marry Juliet she as was already married.
There are several people that could be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet however, Friar Lawrence is the one who is truly to blame for Romeo and Juliet's deaths. He is most to blame out of all people for many obvious reasons.
