Friar Laurence and Mercutio are to blame because when Mercutio was killed, Romeo avenged him. Once Romeo killed Mercutio’s killer, Tybalt, he was banned by Prince Escalus. Friar Laurence is also to blame for many reasons, one of those reasons being that he married the two thinking that it would end the feud and not their lives. One of the other reasons is that he married Romeo and Juliet too quickly, and did not think of the outcome besides ending the feud. Mercutio is to blame not for only getting Romeo banned but also for Romeo meeting Juliet.

Due to their families ongoing feud and dishonest acts of trusted people, they can not be together, so they kill themselves because they feel as if they can not be apart from each other. Friar Lawrence is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he is unrealistic, dishonest, and irresponsible.
At the end of the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo drank poison which killed him and Juliet woke up to see Romeo dead next to her, after words she killed herself with a dagger. One would think the people to blame are Friar Lawrence, Balthasar, and fate/Romeo. For Friar Lawrence there is plenty of evidence to point it is him who did it. As for Balthasar well he had a small part, but it contributed a lot to the events that occurred. Fate well let’s just say that it didn’t go Romeo’s nor Juliet’s way. The key reason that Friar Lawrence is at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet is because he was the priest that married the young couple, and kept their unbreakable love a secret. They came to the priest asking for a life together and pure serenity, in which resulted in a catastrophic death. To support my claim, Friar Lawrence is the primary target because of the secrets he kept from everyone. Friar lawrence should have never agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet.
There are several people that could be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet however, Friar Lawrence is the one who is truly to blame for Romeo and Juliet's deaths. He is most to blame out of all people for many obvious reasons. Friar Lawrence is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he was the one who married the two lovers even though they weren't suppose to be married, gave Juliet this deadly potion,and he feels so guilty at the end which means he knows he's to blame. Friar Laurence was the wise adviser to Romeo and Juliet. He kept their secret and helped them be together.
The end of this story isn’t pretty, so whose fault was it? Because of Friar Lawrence’s immensely important role in Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence’s rash decisions bring about many unfortunate events. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence causes Romeo and Juliet to die a tragic death because of Friar Lawrence’s rashness and lack of good judgement. Friar Lawrence is primarily responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet because of his rash choice to marry the two teenagers.
In Romeo and Juliet, the tragedy written by William Shakespeare, both Romeo and Juliet killed themselves, but others are to blame. The Capulet family, Friar Lawrence and Tybalt all share blame. The Capulet’s share blame for the deaths because they were uptight and did not support or care about Juliet’s feelings. Evidence to prove how Friar Lawrence is in blame is when he makes Romeo and Juliet get married without letting the two families know: “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households’ rancour to pure love (Doc C).” Although Friar Lawrence made Romeo and Juliet get married, he knows that marriages end badly: “So smile the heavens upon this holy act…. These violent delights have violent ends. And in their triumph die, like fire and powder, Which as they kiss consume…. (Doc C).”
In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare demonstrates that Friar Lawrence's tragic flaw is the effort to end the feud through his constant protection of Romeo and Juliet, his futile attempts to keep their marriage a secret, and his deep efforts to make everything turn out good. Friar Lawrence was a mentor and supporter to Romeo and Juliet, he was one of the only people that knew about them wanting to get married throughout the story. He also gave a lot of good advice to Romeo throughout the story about not rushing things and doing things the right way and the right ones aren't what always comes to mind first.
