Romeo and Juliet was the main reason for their downfall. In the book, Romeo always tries to make trouble with his friends, making arguments between the families. Juliet is influenced to make bad decisions like going into a tomb. Both of them end up with their own downfall. Romeo and Juliet are their own downfalls because of their plans, interference with each other families, and finally following everything Friar Lawrence says.

The plans Juliet makes with Friar Lawrence ends in her and Romeo's death. Friar Lawrence decided to let Juliet marry Paris on Thursday. Then he said on Wednesday, Juliet will drink from a vial that will stop her pulse and make her appear dead. After that, she would be placed in a tomb for 48 hours. ¨ We met, we woo'd and made exchange of vow, I'll tell thee as we pass; but this I pray, That thou consent to marry us to-day. Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here!¨ (Act 2, scene 3)This plan could have led to Juliet dying of a lower heart rate, or maybe she could have suffocated in the tomb too. In the book, the two families were fighting either with Tybalt and Romeo or Crashing a Montague party. After the fight Romeo had with Tybalt, it left with Mercutio dead and Romeo being banished. ¨ I beg for justice, which thou, prince, must give; Romeo slew Tybalt, Romeo must not live.¨ (Act 3, scene 1)Because the two families hated each other so much it made Romeo have to be banished to Mantua. By doing this, it made Romeo depressed and willing to do anything to be with Juliet again, like drinking poison.
