Romeo and Juliet's relationship is based on lust because of how long they knew each other, their age, and their forbidden love. A relationship based on true love takes time to develop. The text states, “Now Romeo is beloved and loves again, Alike bewitched by the charm of looks”(Shakespeare 2.Prologue.5-6). Romeo and Juliet had just met and they were already bewitched by each other (2.Prologue.6).
II. Comparison and Contrast: These two literary pieces are one of the saddest love stories in literature. In most romances, their love bloomed slowly and their love was truly above all and became the purpose of their lives, loving each other till their last breath. These two literary pieces are one of the best stories that I’d ever read, and it was so wonderful and breathtaking, reading this gave me a thrill of suspense, while thinking how to compare and contrast between the two literary pieces, the common is that both are all about love and tragedy. Romeo and Juliet is forbidden to fall in love because of their family having an ongoing feud, and had a love at first sight, they are expressing their love secretly and privately for their family
Alice Coachman Davis is the first African American woman to win a gold medal. Growing up in the south, she didn't have many opportunities to peruse what she loved. But after years of training and hard work, which involved running barefoot in the gravel, and moving from school to school across the south, she finally qualified for the Olympics in 1948, and in the end she received a gold medal in high jump. Like Alice, Shakespeare believes that when someone follows their heart’s desires, although it may not be the easiest path, its the path that will make the most sense in the end. He shows this through the tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet’s relationship and the relationship in between Juliet and her parents.
There are many ways an author or playwright can portray relationships in their works. One instance of such is William Shakespeare in his play Romeo and Juliet where he uses many techniques to do just so. Two techniques in particular that he uses are language and structure, through the means of the choice of words to display trust, length of dialogue and the choice of words to display other emotions. One technique that Shakespeare has used to portray relationships is the way that he formats his words to show trust. Trust is an extremely important factor in a good or healthy relationship.
Teenage love is seen to be a necessity to the teenagers growing and maturing. Too many teens believe that they have to be in a relationship, but relationships at that age turn into terrible situations. Relationships at the teen age is also thought as necessary to show the teens how to grow and mature, but Romeo and Juliet’s love story for the play “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, proves that teenage relationships are harmful for mental and physical health for the fact that they gave up their lives over a relationship. In Romeo and Juliet, they fall in love too fast and make irrational decisions, which seems to be the major problem in all teen relationships. Many teens make too many irrational decisions when it comes to “love”.
William Shakespeare wrote Romeo and juliet in a way that makes you think that Romeo and Juliet's love is completely based on strong sexual desire, the whole play moves extremely fast for a normal romantic experience, this can take up to a few years for a strong loving relationship, in Romeo and Juliets case in just around four days, Romeo meets Juliet, moves on from Rosaline, makes his decision that he is in love with Juliet, marries Juliet, and sleeps with her in that short period of time. This opposes two sides of an argument, this relationship is lust, or is this relationship true love. When people communicate poorly--or not at all--the lack of knowledge or understanding that results can cause unfortunate consequences and disastrous tragedies such as heartbreak--or even death. This is distinctly noticeable throughout the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and the twenty-first century today. In Act III, Scene Five of the play, Lady Capulet finds Juliet weeping in her quarters. When she asks Juliet why she is crying, Juliet simply states: “Madam, I am not well.” Lady Capulet takes this as a sign that Juliet is weeping over her cousin’s death, even though Juliet neither affirms nor denies that she cries for Tybalt.
I think that Romeo and Juilet have gone through their ups and downs throughout this play but at the end of the day I think that they have a healthy relationship. An example from the play is that when Romeo saw her for the first time he thought she was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. And really does fall in love with her at first sight. After he sees her for the first time he says “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night as a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear beauty too rich for use, for earth to dear” (1.5. 43-46).This shows that this is going to be the start to a healthy relationship because before he ever even talks to her Romeo is talking very highly of her and is saying he is falling
Healthy relationships consist of many different aspects such as open communication, honesty, trust, commitment, and mutual respect. In order for relationships to thrive, each partner must express these characteristics. Although to some it may seem like the bare minimum to treat your partner with these aspects, not every relationship consists of these qualities. In Jennifer Niven’s All the Bright Places, Finch and Violet do not always express these traits. Due to the fact that both characters have their own struggles, they are not able to experience a truly healthy relationship.
Juliet is responsible the tragedy within the play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare. As a thirteen year-old, Juliet is overprotected by the Capulets which leads to her love with Romeo. However, her effort to not inform the Capulets about her love nor marriage due to the feud between the two families stimulated tremendous amounts of unnecessary conflicts. Neither Paris nor Lord Capulet know about the hidden marriage as they plan for the wedding on Thursday. In Excerpt Three, Paris states, “ Now , sir, her father counts it dangerous That she do give her sorrow so much sway, And in his wisdom hastes our marriage,” (4.1.9-10).
