It may be challenging to determine who caused the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet due to the fact that their lives had been influenced in numerous ways. Their parents and the time they lived in had a large effect on their lives. Although their lives were impacted in many ways, in the end, Romeo is to blame. Throughout the story, Romeo makes a series of terrible decisions that eventually lead to the deaths of himself and multiple others. One example of this is when he kills Tybalt and gets banished. In Act 3 scene 1, he states that he is “fortune's fool”, but in reality, he just made a poor decision. He also makes an awful choice when he goes to the Capulet party without being invited. In Act 1 scene 5 (at the party) Tybalt sees Romeo and says, "It fits, when such a villain is a guest: I'll not endure him". Meaning that Tybalt doesn't like Romeo and he wants to fight him. This choice he made to go to the party eventually led to their battle and Tybalt's death. …show more content…

In Act 5 scene 3 Romeo says, “Here's to my love. O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die.” before his death, because he would rather be dead than in a world without Juliet. This is the wrong decision since if he had thought rationally and did not kill himself, then the Friar's plan would have a higher chance of success, but because Romeo killed himself the plan did not
