Have you ever experienced propaganda? If you are like me, then we might not have a clue about it at all. Propaganda is misinformation that is intentionally circulated through mass media with a political agenda to convince citizens to hate the enemy. Propaganda has been used worldwide for a very long time. Propaganda has been around since people even knew how to spread information around. Now in the 21st century, propaganda has been changed and used all over the world: through social media, TV news, and newspapers on the Internet. Reading this essay, I will talk about how Rosie the Riveter was a positive type of propaganda and how propaganda is used today in the 21st century. Rosie the River was created in 1943, by a woman named Rosalind P. Walter. Rosie was created to show people that women could work just as hard as men. When WW2 came around, men were conscripted to go fight the war and while they were gone, women took over the men’s work while they were fighting for their country. Rosie the Riveter was based on a real person named Rose Will Monroe. Rosie the Riveter inspired many women during WW1 and 2 while they were trying to prove themselves to find good paying jobs. …show more content…

In World War Two, Hitler made a group of Germans called the Nazi’s to get rid of the Jews so the could have a clean country and so Hitler could start trying to take over the world. Many of the Germans believed that they were winning the war when the Nazi’s convinced them that they were close to victory. Back in the 1900’s propaganda took a very long time to spread around. Now days, it can spread around the world very fast. Since we have news, newspapers, the Internet and social media, we have access to making propaganda.
