Great clinicians are not born they are created, they start from somewhere and they’ve made mistakes on their journey to success. During my time volunteering at the Maggie Coffey Memorial Tennis Tournament, I encountered many tennis players with a variety of complaints, such as: Achilles’ tendon pain, ulnar collateral ligament dysfunction, pinched nerve syndrome “Sciatica, etc. One of the challenges that I faced while observing the tennis players was discerning the appropriate clinical questions to ask in order to get to the possible root of the problem While interviewing the patient, I found myself stuttering and asking each of the patients the same general question although they each presented with different signs and symptoms. I feel that the area that came the easiest to me was conducting the basic active/passive range of motion and manual muscle testing on the patient, by conducting these tests, I could ensure that range of motion and muscle strength were not affected by the pain and symptoms reported.
In a way, tennis is a metaphor for life. It requires motivation and passion. A match is a battle, where the best show not only strength and poise, but intelligence, sportsmanship, and resolve. The Edwardsville tennis program has taught me so much about striving for excellence and the pay off of hard work.
Arguing with “old-heads” about anything, in particular basketball, can prove to be a frustrating, and nonproductive pastime. With counter explanations to your clearly stated statistics, usually resulting in “Because I say so”, lets a player and his team’s statistics take a back seat to the overdramatized stories used to sell tickets, and merchandise. In Jay Caspian Kang’s article, “How Do You Tell a Better Story in Sports?”, Kang argues that the drastic change in sport analytics from overdramatized journalism, to hard cold-cut statistics constantly being argued and compared to each other, is for the better. I became apart of Marcus Golf my sophomore year after I switched over from soccer. With a smooth transition I was able to be successful very early on. I was nominated to be team captain my sophomore year when I was on JV, and when I got moved up to Varsity I continued to be a strong leader. The buzzer going off, the crowd cheering, for the first time in school history, Trinty Clinton Township are state chapions. That team made history, acheiving far more than what any spartan was thought possible, but this team accomplished far more than a state championship. There has been Trinity greats that have made a mark in the Trinity basketball program history. I knew, this being my last year at trinity, that I had had mighty big shoes to fill if I also wanted to make a perminet mark at trinity. The Basketball Experience of a Lifetime In the essay “The Basketball Experience of a Lifetime” by R’Reuna Ousley, Basketball rules and regulations contribute greatly to the athletes' game. A good example is 5 fouls and I foul out of the game and can’t play anymore. Another example is walking and holding the ball or its travel. Those two rules are major.
The changing relationship between Ralph and Jack, the protagonist and antagonist in Lord of the Flies is one where these two boys at first seem like allies but quickly diverge and distance themselves apart and soon become completely at odds with one another. Due to the different approaches they take in the leadership of a group of boys stranded on an uninhabited island, the group splits into two opposing and even warring factions, showing the severity of their antagonism. In the beginning, relations between Ralph and Jack are not as hostile. When they explore their island, they appear to act like friends, fooling around and casually playing.
The many things I have doubted have actually come true and I fear for the worst. Yes, it has been a while since I’ve last composed a note in this diary, but it is because I haven’t been sleeping well and trying to get a grasp on what has been happening. Additionally, it has gone around that there is a meeting being planned at the tennis court by the unruly third estate. Moreover, it does not sound good, and I think they are planning to do something harmful or deadly and I just hope my husband doesn’t interfere with the situation, for I care about him dearly and want nothing to happen to him.
“Why can’t we get into our freaking offense!?” This is all I really remember from Coach McKendrick at halftime last year against Niles North in what was a tough night for our basketball team. Prior to this, we beat New Trier at home and then went on the road and beat the pre-season unanimous vote to win conference, Highland Park, in our first conference game. Before the New Trier game, our game plan was simple: we were smaller, but faster, so we were going to run the court and make this is a fast pace game. We executed our gameplan, and we won.
There was a boy who went by the name jeffy he liked to play hockey and he was very good at it. He was about 5,10 had blonde hair with brown eyes, Jeffy was not the biggest kid he was pretty skinny. Everyday after school he would go to the Windom Arena and he would skate and practice playing hockey. One day after he was done skating he went upstairs to the dry land room and he was working on his clap bombs and and his top cheese snipes. When all of a sudden he heard a loud horn and a scream so he dropped his pucks and stick and quickly ran down stairs to see what was going on but when he arrived there was no one there.
Golf is a game that can be played throughout life as it teaches us life skills and values that will prepare us for what life brings our way. Golf is often said to be a sport that relates to life. In the game of golf the players navigate the hilly, uneven terrain with the sole aim to reach the goal— is to PUTT the ball . Golf teaches the player many a life lessons. The game instils honesty, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, perseverance, courtesy and concentration.
Putting the fun back into physical activity for children will do wonders to foster PA. You don’t see children playing in neighborhoods anymore. A constructive approach to developing outdoor free play is, in my opinion, the cornerstone of developing a love of doing, moving, and being physically active. Many children don’t enjoy the harshness of competitive sport (I was one of them) but do enjoy being out and about doing things. As a child play that involved running, cycling, swimming, and skating were all the things that I truly loved.
How In the 7th grade our basketball team was good, we had never played together and our chemistry came out pretty well. The first team we played was Derby, they’ve always been good in about every sport. We worked hard at practice every day leading up to Gameday. We won that game, in fact we won every game except for two in the regular season, we lost to Andover Central and Augusta. Then we had to play Derby in the championship, it was a hard fought game, but in the end, we lost by 3.
Most of us find it difficult to figure out what is our talent. My talent is playing tennis. Once I joined the famous sport called tennis, it shape me to be more responsible, extremely active, and furthermore have respect win or lose. The year of my sophomore I was allowed to tryout for varsity tennis and have been in the varsity leader team for three years.
Air ball— again. My form was lost, coordination gone, and so was my patience. I’ve stopped playing basketball for 3 months mainly because of school work and things going on in my life. I was determined to get my skills back no matter how long it’ll take. I started a game of basketball with other people inside the gyms court.
