Proverbs 12:11, “Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.” Most people realize that the early settlers in America endured many tribulations such as food shortages, fights with Indians, quarrels among leaders, and more. What most people do not realize is that many of these early settlers squandered their time, wasted their energy, and were generally lazy and idle. This was a huge problem for early Americans because in order to survive, it was vital that they work. Why were these early Americans not motivated to work?
This continues to show us how reckless and sloppy America was with its plan for the bomb. Document D talks about a story of a survivor who experienced the attack at an early age in his classroom. He states " It is hard to tell, his skull was cracked open, his flesh was hanging out from his head. He has only one eye left, and it was looking right at me... he told me to go away."

At the end of World War II the use of atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki resulted in complete and total obliteration, which was a stark reality. The film takes place during World War II; an American bomber taskforce was given misguided commands to bombard the Soviet Union.
Andrew Jackson was a great General and won several battles against all odds. But that doesn’t excuse him for his murderous acts. Not only did he kill but him took pleasure in killing, he bragged about it. As I said he was a killer he didn’t care that being an early president he had to set an example for all future presidents.
In the story, Maycomb County has many different social classes and depending on someone’s social status, they are treated and looked upon, a certain way. For example, two poor families, the Cunninghams and the Ewells, are discriminated against because of their lower status in society. For instance, after Scout beats up Walter Cunningham for getting her whipped, Jem invites Walter over for lunch. When Scout, Jem, and Walter reach the Finch's front steps, Walter, in Scout’s eyes, “had forgotten he was a Cunningham” (31). Even Scout, a six year old girl, perceives the Cunningham family as lower class.

Critical Theory Essay In the book “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, the author tackles a lot of different topics throughout the novel for it was a book written in times of segregation and a time when the world didn’t see many people as equals, in a world where you had to play a certain role on society based off who you were, the 60’s. Therefore what appealed to me alot in this novel was the lens of feminism, in the way the character Scout was perceived by audiences then and even the audiences of present time. As well as the lens of african american criticism, in how black people were seen by society of the time and how it affected the black community.
