In The Scorch Trials by James Dashner, Thomas a teenager learns that WICKED is untrustworthy. To begin with, Thomas and the gladers defend the Safe Haven from WICKED. There forth, Thomas and the gang escape from WICKED’s test facility. There, they meet scorch survivors Jorge and Brenda at the crank asylum. From there Thomas and Brenda get split from the group, in which they meet up at the Safe Haven.
On December 23, 1981, Thomas Sophonow, a Canadian man, was wrongfully accused of murder. 16 year old Barbara Stoppel was ruthlessly killed at the washroom of her workplace. Unfortunately, eyewitnesses mistakenly chose Mr. Sophonow as being the murderer. Eye witnesses stated that a man, whose appearance was very similar to that of Thomas Sophonow, locked the door and made his way to the back of the shop where he was presumed to have strangled Barbara Stoppel to death. Furthermore, while Thomas Sophonow was in custody, he showed an undercover officer a door locking technique.
Clarence Gideon was accused of breaking and entering the bay harbor poolroom. he went to court and was found guilty. he went to prison for two years and he wrote to the supreme court during that time, it was taken in committee and Clarence 's letter helped overturn Brady and now everyone gets a court appointed lawyer if need. his letter was read and he got a second trial because his second was found to be unfair. he won his second trial and got out of jail.
In his first trial, Wright was pressured by deputies to confess. He accused Charlie Weems and Clarence Norris of raping Price and Bates. Despite him later claiming his statements were coerced, his own trial ended in eleven jurors voting for a death sentence and one seeking life in prison. Plessy vs Ferguson is a similar topic of the book To Kill A Mockingbird. In both cases there was a bunch of segregation. Both people were found guilty because everyone on the jury was racist. Plessy and Ferguson was involved in this case. Plessy sat in the all white railroad cars instead of the all black railroad cars.

While Upton Sinclair was writing what was soon to be a bestseller and a book that is still used in literature classes to this day, he kept in mind that he wanted to portray the exploited lives of workers for the meatpacking industries. He really emphasized that they were substantially underpaid for the harsh working conditions they were put in. What the public emphasized on was how the meat was being treated, this caused an uproar throughout the country. It was never Sinclair’s goal to muck rack and expose what the meatpacking industries were doing. Now to this day Sinclair’s, The Jungle, is known for being a classic muckraking tale.

In 1931, Haywood Patterson and eight other African American teenagers were falsely charged for rape and all the boys also received the death sentence after accommodating a train with the victims Ruby Bates and Victoria Price. Haywood Patterson is innocent due to three reasons, no evidence of rape from the doctor’s notes, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates were prostitutes, and Ruby Bates claimed that Victoria and her were lying the whole time. Admittedly, Haywood Patterson is guilty.
The Tom Robison case was assigned to Atticus to try and prove Tom not guilty. The case was a black man verse a white man, Tom verse Bob, and Bob accused Tom of raping his daughter. It was a he-said-he-said type, and no one had any proof except for the bruises and cuts on Mayella, Bob's daughter. It was close to impossible for a black man to win that case, but Atticus still tried.
During the Holocaust millions of people were killed by the Nazis because they were not the ideal race. The Nuremberg Trials were held in Nuremberg, Germany. The judges of the trials were from Great Britain, the Soviet Union, the United States, and France. These trials were held to bring justice to all the lives lost during World War two. After the Holocaust, the Nuremberg Trials were held to bring justice to Nazi officials, Industrialists, but failed to punish those who escaped.
