The Native peoples couldn 't hardly help noticing the stars. The Pawnee told stories about Morning Star, who fought good and triumphed over star monsters. One sad
The author wants the readers to understand that for a family to be a perfect family like we see in love stories it must have similar ideas, thus he uses stars to show wholeness in the family. Throughout the story, Hrbek uses perspective
Livingston compares the stars of the night sky the gleam he witnesses in the eyes of his own students, using diction relating to astronomy “twinkle” and “shooting star” to instill a sense of wonderment. In order to enlighten his fellow educators of the hidden desire students can have for learning. “I look each of my students in the eye and see the same light that aligned Orion's
Music could mean crickets singing, rain falling, a visiting breeze or even a creek running. The angels’ choir, or the sounds of night, simply assist us along our journey. For these sounds are the “pale tall choirs.” Pale and tall possibly referring to the moon and the way its light shines down upon the world, or maybe even a literal choir of angels. Poems tend to construct more of a feeling than a sense of understanding.
Take for example, how “Those shining stars, he liked to point out, were one of the special treats for people like us who lived out in the wilderness” (39). The purpose of the special stars was to bring ease to the difficult times. Although the Walls family didn’t have a lot, they had the stars which bought them joy. The Walls couldn’t

The US dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima in 1945. As Australia was part of America’s strongest allies Australia supported this. Figurative language is a big part when it comes to writing. It helps make the poems or whatever the type of writing is, come alive. There are numerous types of figurative language, also. The author usually uses figurative language to allow the reader to understand the writing better.
According to the text, “Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black”(Silverstein lines 8-9). Also, “And there the moon-bird rests from his flight to cool in the peppermint wind”(Silverstein lines 3-5). These quotes show how descriptive language helps express the theme of the rewards of hard work being the meaning of life. When the poem says to leave the place where the smoke blows black, it symbolizes the hardships of life. Also, the moon-bird symbolizes that leaving that place is difficult work
The astronomer's talk is "just an illusion," and the speaker knows that hearing about the stars and planets is not the same as seeing them in person. Referring to the phrase “the mystical moist night-air” is a metaphor for the beauty and wonder of the natural world, which cannot be entirely captured by scientific study. In the last verse of the poem, the speaker concludes that intellectual study is important, but it shouldn't take the place of experiencing the natural world. When he says, “Look’d up in the perfect silence at the stars” referring to being in a location where the person cannot be disturbed while looking in the light of the
Stars; these seem to be very important figures in the story of Romeo and Juliet, a lyric poem, story and play, written by William Shakespeare. It supposedly relates to fate and is talked about repeatedly throughout the story. I look at the stars way up high and see them in their "predetermined" locations. They 're metaphorical because of how easy it is to compare stars and fate. I notice Shakespeare 's intentions when comparing destiny and the stars.
The poem begins with the narrator describing being alone in the woods. She is being dragged through the water, by a mysterious man which develops the sense of imprisonment. She describes the man’s language as not human and she turned to prayer to find strength.
The meaning of a poem can be expressed through literary devices such as a metaphor or symbolism. When we look at the poem “My Papa’s Waltz,” Symbolism and metaphor are used strategically by the author to express the meaning of a poem. A metaphor is comparing two unlike things without using like or as and symbolism is to give more meaning and life to a certain thing. The poem highlights the experience of a child who was living with an abusive, drunk father and a mother who could not stand up for herself or her child.
The stars shine bright on the vast stage of the galaxy. The awe-inspiring constellations have shifted and torn, casting stars light-years from their position, giving each a dancing partner. Each star compliments their companion and each shine brighter than they could have alone. The stars twinkle softly and watch me watching them. I wish to teach them, for I have lived a long, prosperous life and I know I can teach them so much.
Starting at line 5 and going to line 8, Keats imagines love as something written on the night sky. He starts by personifying the sky, in line 5 he says “..the night’s starred face,” which allows him to connect the sky to a person or in this case a human emotion. He brings the emotion of love and the concept of romance into his poem in line 6, “..symbols of high romance,” and in the following two lines he shows how unreachable love is if death is to come to him sooner rather than later. By placing the love he, and everybody else, longs for in the night sky, and vast and mysterious place, he makes the journey to finding love a long hard one. A journey that could never be fully accomplished if death was to come too
I sighed looking at myself in the mirror, I was pitiful. I was too thin, my wavy hair was a wild mess at this length and the only make up I could find was a 1950’s bright red lipstick. I don’t even want to mention the my outfit- the only thing I had that was could possibly be considered nice was a white buttoned down shirt and a pair of jeans that now hung too loosely on my body. God I was pitiful. I heard someone clear their throat and I looked up to see Paul standing in the door way.
