On February 9th, 1999, Hae Min Lee’s body was found buried in a shallow grave in Leakin Park––death by strangulation. Later that year, an innocent man by the name of Adnan Syed was convicted on an extremely shaky case for the murder of this young girl. However incriminating the call records may appear at first glance, Adnan Syed, with an alibi to prove his innocence, had no motive to kill Hae Min Lee. To put it simply, Adnan Syed had no reason to murder Hae. After the couple split up, multiple witnesses confirmed that Adnan did not seem to be ridiculously or unusually upset; it was merely another high school breakup.
Adnan Syed On January 13, 1999 Hae lee a high school student went missing. She was strangled in her car. She was later found buried in Leakin Park. They had arrested Adnan Syed the ex-boyfriend they convicted him of murdering Hae lee and gave him 6 to life in Jail.
On January 13th, 1999 Hae Min Lee disappeared. Somewhere between 2:15 and 2:36 p.m. that day she was murdered. Four weeks later on February 9th, 1999 her body was found at Leakin Park. On February 28th, 1999 Adnan Masud Syed, Hae’s ex-boyfriend, was arrested and charged with first degree murder. However since his arrest Adnan has maintained his innocence and insists he had no involvement whatsoever in Hae Lee’s murder.

Adnan Syed is not guilty of murdering Hae Min Lee and should be released from prison because the evidence against him wasn’t solid enough to prove without a reasonable doubt that he was guilty.

In the poem “Making Sarah Cry” the boy learns to become friends with Sarah and doesn’t worry about the fact that she is different. In the story “Don't Give Up The Fight” Ava learns to talk to her friends next time something goes wrong. Even though both of these have a common theme it is shown in two very different ways. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
