I have learned so much since I have started this program. I believe that I have improved greatly and will continue to improve as a scholarly writer in the doctoral program, and it aligns with the scholar-practitioner model required by Capella. The key for factor for me is to stay focused, motivated, and energetic. Thus, the scholar-practitioner model will help to become a competent writer as a doctoral student.
The three careers I chose to examine were IT Security Administrator, Forensics Investigator, and Obstetrician Gynecologist. I chose these careers because I discovered that the employment rates for these jobs are expected to grow at a faster than average 37% from 2012-2022. This is because data security threats are growing and with more digital technology rising, more organizations have become victims of cyber crimes. The other career is what I want to be. Internet Security Administrators, also known as computer security specialists, or Internet security specialists, protect computer systems against attack.
In your own words, what is the difference between a practitioner-scholar and a scholar-practitioner? The Practitioner-scholar model is a learning model used in higher education and is an advanced educational model that has its focus on the practical application of scholarly knowledge (McClintock, (2003). Scholar practitioners are committed to learning new ways to be effective. They do this by using scholarly research and practical application to help clients and colleagues solve problems within their field.
When a child is going through a difficult time such as a family break up it is important to put the child’s needs first because if you don’t the child may not be able to achieve their full potential. A way to do this is by having a child centred practice and planning around a child, so that the routine fits around the child and their individual needs are planned for. In my placement the practitioners would plan out what they are going to do, while making sure individual needs are taken into consideration. It is important to work closely with other professionals when planning for transitions because they would be able to help provide the appropriate support the child will need, this can be done by working in partnership with professionals that can help with that transition and coming up with a plan or routine to follow to support the child.
Thomas C. Foster’s novel How to Read Like a Professor teaches readers how to deeply analyze literary works to be able to understand deeper meanings in the work, and to be able to predict what will happen later on in the literary work. The Disney film Atlantis: The Lost Empire contains many of the aspects Foster goes over in this first ten chapters, which mostly include quests, referencing well-known literature, weather patterns, and the gathering for meals. According to Foster, a journey is never just a journey. It is a quest to discovering some sort of Holy Grail, whether it be an object, an idea, or self-discovery.
Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, is a tool that people just can’t seem to agree on whether or not to trust as a real source of information. Many state that the site is full of incorrect information because “just anyone can put something on there.” However, others point out that the process to post an article on Wikipedia is actually quite difficult. Two articles address this issue.
Think of Google, Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, Sony, or countless other companies. I could also be a computer software engineer, writing apps for the common good. Thinking about it, why can I not be all three? The presidency only lasts up to two terms of four years each, so for the rest of my life, I must be a computer software engineer. I would like to be a computer software engineer, because I can become rich and famous, I can make apps my way, and I can work with my passion for electronics and how things work.
Participating in NSLI-Y is a wonderful opportunity for growth, both academically and personally. For me, my top reasons for pursuing this scholarship is to take advantage of the full immersion experience, the chance to see more of the world, and to further connect with my family's heritage. In my past studies of the Russian language, I have had experience with immersion. My two weeks with the CLV Russian Immersion Program taught me to remain calm while speaking with others in Russian, and thus gained so much confidence in my speaking skills. However, nothing compares to the chance to actually spend time in a country where Russian is the primary language.
According to McClintock’s scholar-practitioner model, it expresses an ideal of professional excellence grounded in theory and research, informed by experiential knowledge, and motivated by personal values, political commitments, and ethical conduct (McClintock, 2004). As for Capella's scholar-practitioner learning model, learners acquire additional research skills, apply appropriate theory and research strategies, and share knowledge through scholarly publications and presentations (Capella University, 2003). When one looks deeper within both models, they get to view the many similarities that each hold to one another. Both reflect on how theory and research influence professionals to strive and succeed within their work. The aspects that McClintock’s model supports Capella’s range from acquiring and processing information to extracting and evaluating questions.
Consulting from a scientific-practitioner perspective is the gathering of information and identifying evidence-based methods of learning in which can further establish singular commonalities which promotes learning from one another. This concept of inclusive education can assist practitioner in identifying which methods are successful and/or failing. These scientific-practitioner models can result in clinical training which focuses on a multitude of perspective which incorporates both scientific and knowledge bases which ensure the best practices have been implemented and evaluated between peers and other members of the professional cohort. Lowman (2012) affirmed that research identifies the phenomenon is more likely to provide knowledge’s
The first major piece of United States health care legislation started with our 2nd president, John Adams who in 1798 signed an Act for the ill-stricken and disabled seamen. Within this act, it stated that from a seamen’s paycheck that twenty cents per month would be allocated to cover any medical bills. Many years have passed with greater technologies, more educated physicians, and health care reform within our health care system. While some health care systems are more technologically advanced with physicians going through extended educational programs, other countries are stricken with disease, have medication and vaccination shortages, and a health care system that is non-existent. Even though the United States has issues within government
Behind each movie lies the meaningful aspects and significant features worth noticing. All movies and books can be carefully examined and interpreted. Thomas C. Foster’s How to Read Literature Like a Professor provides a new view on interpreting literature. In the novel, Foster identifies and analyzes common patterns, themes, and motifs found in literature, many of which are also present in Disney’s film, Maleficent. This movie showcases several of his ideas, including quests, flight, geography, and symbolism.

Unit 5 1.1 The features of partnership working means working alongside others to achieve a mutual aim. The National Service Framework For Older People 2001 outlined multi agency working between health and social care agencies.
Within the realm of education, there are numerous ideologies that may be utilized to construct a curriculum. Several of these ideologies are more prominent than others. With this in mind, there are four main ideologies that are analyzed more frequently than others; these include Scholar Academic, Social Efficiency, Learner-Centered, and Social Reconstruction. Throughout this paper, the focal point will be assessing how these views are applied, both inside and outside the classroom.
