School Uniforms
Nobody enjoys waking up early for school only to be made fun of for the clothes they are wearing. Children are always compared to one another, so why not add school uniforms to the equation to make them equal? Only a few schools, mostly private schools, enforce wearing uniforms. Yet the impact of school uniforms is so positive and beneficial. Private schools never had to use uniforms, but they chose to. They know that every student might not love them, but the benefits are too great to pass up. Schools should use uniforms because they help deteriorate crime, increase focus among students, and prevent bullying.

Not every student can afford the most expensive popular clothes resulting in them being pointed out by their peers. This can lead to bullying because what they are wearing isn’t as “cool”. For example, “What you don 't want is some children turning up in fashionable new clothes and bullying the ones in their hand-me-downs who will inevitably feel embarrassed as a result. With a school uniform everyone 's the same, thus no one can argue this point” (Pros and Cons of School Uniforms). This shows that when everyone is wearing the same outfit it creates a sense of equality between all of the students. Families with lower incomes can’t be targeted because they will be wearing the same outfit as everyone else in the school. In contrast you may say that school uniforms can be very expensive making it hard for lower income families but, uniforms are significantly cheaper. Every season parents would have to go out and buy new clothes. While with a uniform you wear the same thing all year. Another example is, “When everyone is dressed the same, worrying about what you look like isn’t so important. There is no competition about being dressed in the latest trend, which would put a great deal of financial pressure on students and parents. Potential bullies have one less target for their insults; it’s hard to make fun of what someone is wearing when you’re dressed exactly the same” (Spencer) This evidence conveys that with everyone at a school wearing the same thing this gives bullies one less thing for them to make fun of. When you take away bullies “fuel” this leaves less kids being attacked by them. In addition to that, “In America, where a majority of schools do not have a uniform, roughly 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students...having a uniform can be a safety net for many students who might otherwise suffer from bullying. A strict uniform gives the impression
