In this lab experiment the effects of plant growth and the pattern of plant growth in a lima bean plant had been eye opening. Using different liquids had a different outcome on each plant. the different types of nutrients and PH level in each liquid played various roles in the development and growth of each plant. the plant that had been exposed to sprite and milk showed a effective growth and decay starting from day 5. An incredible 3.2 cms was the growth for the plant which was exposed to pond water and on day 5 the plant that was exposed to the liquid of naturel 2% milk showed a decrease of .2 cms.
Investigable Question: How does light affect the protozoan population? Background: We had 3 jars, all the jars had 90 ml of water, and 0.9 grams of grass. We had saran wrap on the top of all the jars to keep the fruit flies out. Aside from making sure our water, and grass are the same.
All organisms use food molecules, like glucose to produce ATP. The production of ATP occurs during cellular respiration. ATP provides the cells with energy that is necessary to produce oxygen. The seeds/plants are autotrophic organisms, which produce their food from the energy that the light provides them. To release the stored energy within the food molecules, the germinated seeds carry out respiration and the release of carbon dioxide.
Hypothesis: If four lights (UV Light, LED Light, Infrared Light, and Blue Light) are used to perform photosynthesis on a spinach leaf, then the spinach will respond most to the blue light and perform a more efficient photosynthetic process.
Then, ultimately, plants get their energy from the sun. This means that any energy that humans have come from the sun in one way or another. This is how Crosby got his name for the book Children of the Sun. The main point of this book is to explain the history of the prime movers and how they turned into new ways of obtaining energy. According to Crosby “ physicist have paired the concept[of prime movers] down to mean any machine (using that word broadly) that converts natural energy into work.
Indoor farmers understand the importance of light. The survival of a plant depends on light; without it, a plant cannot mature into its full-grown state or cannot offer the flowers and fruits it typically provides. Typical indoor farmers utilize LED lights over fluorescent bulbs in order to furnish their plants with the necessary nutrients they need to grow. However, LED lights have a large benefit over their fluorescent bulb alternatives because of the technology seen in LEDs and the light made within an LED chip.
In soil there is 25% water. A Lot of minerals are in soil. If you want big crops, then you need the water and the minerals. Healthy soil has a lot of bugs and animals. They work day and night.
Introduction: In this task I will be researching the effect that acid rain has on the rate of plant growth. Acid rain is any type of precipitation with a high pH, with high levels of nitric acids. The reason why I had chosen this topic was because acid rain seems to have a great effect on the effect of plant growth, and plants play a very important role in our ecosystem. Acid rain is a major problem in our environment when we are not able to neutralize the acidity.
One of the focuses of this semester was the ability to identify biological processes that require energy and explain why they require energy. In the work I completed I demonstrated being able to accomplish this. This occurred in several different projects, including the cellular respiration lab involving the respiration rate of germinating seeds, the potato core lab and the photosynthesis lab. In these labs, we were able to identify the biological processes that required energy for the different processes to take place to allow germination to occur.
This experiment will also show if fertilizers help a plant grow more than just soil found in nature. This experiment will not try to prove if chemical fertilizer is safe or not. The chemical fertilizer being used was randomly chosen and the compost will be made from scratch. There are positive and negative effects on the plant from using both these fertilizers. The best result will be determined through daily measurements and general observations of the appearance of the
The answer- plants have developed many important behavioural and physiological methods not shared
According to University of Exeter (2007), Vitamin C is essential in plants because it helps them grow. This is because plants cannot grow past a seedling without the vitamin C. The University of Exeter says “Vitamin C provides protection against the harmful side-effects of light during photosynthesis…” Vitamin C is a big part in a plant 's life because it allows the plant to become an “Adult” or mature plant, which helps produce oxygen. If plants did not use Vitamin C to grow then we would have no oxygen on Earth. According to the University of California (2005), Vitamin C can also improve the process of photosynthesis or make it more efficient. Which is the process in which plants turn sunlight into food for them.
Research Question: How does the presence of light impact the rate of transpiration in plants? Aim: The aim of this experiment was to investigate how the presence of light affects the rate of transpiration in plants. Hypothesis: As light intensity increases, the rate of transpiration (water uptake) in a plant increases.
The rate in which my grass grows can be contributed to many factors. It can be said that the amount of sun in which my grass receives makes it grow faster. However, this guess would be my own hypothesis and would need further experimentation. The grass would have to be tested using separate variables. The grass would need to be tested using the effect of light and water separately and then test using water and light at the same time.
Below are a couple of ways by which we rely on plants to survive:
