In the book "Invitation to the Game" there are many characters each with a unique personality. Their diverse personalities and intelligences contribute to a constantly moving and captivating plot. One of these characters is Scylla. Scylla clearly demonstrates visual/spatial intelligence in the book. "A person with visual/spatial intelligence can think in pictures and can perceive, transform, and re-create many aspects of the visual world." (Armstrong, 10) This intelligence and Scylla being part of the group is important because it helps without the money from her paintings the group in three main ways, financially, preparing for The Game, and in The Game.wouldn’t have been able to make it through life in the DA and they wouldn’t have maps and paintings of the game world to help them plan their strategies. One reason Scylla having visual/spatial intelligence is significant to us and to the book because it helps the group financially. Many times during The Game Scylla leads the team in coming up with a plan for their next steps in The Game. One way Scylla does this is by "Scylla had[painting] out [a] mural […] of [their] newfound country" (77). This quote talks about Scylla “painting out [..] their newfound country” after their first round in The Game. "Scylla made drawings as exact as any photograph could have been" (83). Scylla being able to recreate aspects of the visual world accurately into murals shows that she has visual/spatial intelligence.
