From firsthand experience, I can tell drivers that wearing their seatbelt will save your life in a vulnerable moment. Why wouldn’t drivers want to wear something that could save your life? Why wouldn’t drivers want to wear something that would save your family and loved ones from heartache? Why wouldn’t drivers want to wear something that was quick to put on and specifically made to keep you safe? Not wearing a seatbelt should be illegal in all 50 states because it isn’t a good habit to attain, it can easily be prevented, and it puts safety at risk. Everyone has their everyday habits. It could be a morning routine, what is packed for lunch, biting fingernails, or picking at spilt ins. Good or bad, everyone has daily habits. Habits are formed by repeating an action over and over again until it becomes natural. For drivers, putting a seatbelt on can quickly become a quality habit. Most people who drive get in their car at least twice a day. Imagine if every time a driver got in their car they reminded themselves to put their seatbelt on, and they did this everyday. Once it has been repeated an abundant amount of times, a driver will naturally put their seatbelt on. By a driver putting their seatbelt on, it sets a safe example for anyone who is a passenger in their car, especially beginner drivers like teenagers. It’s a click of a …show more content…

All 50 states should pass a law that states not wearing a seatbelt is illegal. If a driver or passenger doesn’t follow this law, they should be charged a pricey fine. This will urge people to make wearing a seatbelt a daily habit. Teenagers, not wearing a seat belt does not look “cool.” In fact, it makes one look like an idiot, so one shouldn’t participate in that trend. Personally, a seatbelt saved my life in a car accident. Not wearing a seatbelt should be illegal in all 50 states because it isn’t a good habit, it can easily be prevented, and it puts safety at risk. Buckle up,
