Foster the People is an indie rock band that was formed in 2009 in Los Angeles by Mark Foster. The group is comprised of three members, Mark Foster (multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter), Cubbie Fink (bass) and Mark Pontius (drummer). Mark Foster spent his early twenties struggling to become a known name in music. He became friends with Mark Pontius, who was a film student, and he decided to leave his band “Melbec” to found “Foster the People” with Mark Foster. I am writing my research paper on whether the idea of transitional programs are decreasing Recidivism rates in Pennsylvania. I found a specific one called “Halfway Houses.” The term “halfway house” refers to a small, closely supervised residential program where people making the transition from prison to the outside world get drug treatment, job placement and other services (New York Times). There are certain rules that they must follow, however, this will make the participants more accountable and responsible for their own actions. This certain type of transitional program assist the participants in focusing on their self and maintaining the transition from prison life to life back in every day society.
REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT AND ASYLUM SEEKERS Introduction In the lifespan of an asylum seeker, there exists a time for uprooting from their native country, waiting for resettlement, the actual resettlement and finally integrating with the society in which they are resettled. With the world today being full of conflict, refugees fleeing their countries are common phenomena in every country globally. What the refugees do not know however is the refugee policies of the countries in which they are seeking asylum.

This situation has not changed, though now , refugees turn to any country that will shelter them. The word ‘refugee’ is derived from the word refuge or to seek refuge. People flee to safe havens from life-threatening situations. Refugees are afflicted but may not be welcomed by host nations because many do not understand their plight.
