In the transcript from the interview with Dr. Rebecca Campbell on the neurobiology of Sexual Assault she answers questions that can enhance the way that victims of sexual assault receive services with professionals that they encounter. There were several themes that I found within the interview and coding that I made on the transcribed interview for various reasons. The main theme that I found in this interview is the process that went through explaining as to why individuals are recollecting memories of their sexual assault in odd patterns and how she is trying to educate other individuals that may have contact with victims of sexual assault so that they can better provide their services to that individual. In the first question, the theme was getting rid of suspicious thoughts. The word suspicious and other words like it was used indicating that law enforcement was suspicious of victims that they encounter. at the end of the question, she stated that Law Enforcement need to be educated on as to why victims are displaying odd behaviors to reduce suspicious thought that might cross Law Enforcement mind while talking to a victim. Since Dr. Rebecca Campbell has worked with Law enforcement and knows the reactions that they get when they are working with victims which is not beneficial to the victim. When the Law enforcement get their education, they can better understand the behaviors that the victims are portraying, which was described in the interview that brought me to the conclusion that the theme of this answer was getting rid of suspicious …show more content…

I also wrote the main theme of each section next to the section or on top of the paper so that I can know what I was reading when I referenced back to the interview. In the second question I coded quotes because during the interview her voice would change when she was trying to mimic what was said by law enforcement. I believe the quotes were important because she wanted us to know what type of reactions they gave to her when she was trying to explain and educated them on the behavior of the
