When I first saw that ACA-122 was a required course to complete your Associate in Arts degree, I thought it was an unnecessary course to have to take. What else could I possibly learn about College Transfer Success at the end of my degree? To my surprise, as I come to the end of ACA-122 class, I find myself to be a more prepared student and future employee. I personally believe that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is currently the most important. For me this was a difficult choice because the CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and (Department of Homeland Security) are also incredibly important, especially with the difficulties our country is facing today. I do feel, that SAMHSA, being the “umbrella” agency for other services, is in greater need to provide proper care for those affected drugs (especially, heroin) and mental illnesses. Drugs do not discriminate. They can damage anyone’s life, regardless of age, financial class, or ethnic background.

As a Student leader for Brock University on orientation day, I communicated effectively with many new students to ensure they felt comfortable in their new campus life. As an event assistant with BUCSSA, I planned and implemented events on schedule and developed strong time management skills while managing task conflicts
As a former AP Lang student, I feel that this class has been very beneficial for me in that it has allowed me to apply the techniques and strategies I learned last year toward more relevant subjects. Having the freedom of choosing topics to write about for our various essays made this class more enjoyable than the other English classes that I have taken. AP Lang focused heavily on the techniques of writing solid essays, but instead of writing about useful topics, we analyzed the short stories provided on the exams. Writing a personal narrative essay was very helpful in my college application process and allowed me to employ the same kind of strategies that I learned in class into my college essays.
Writing, searching, and investigating this paper was really fun. I enjoyed searching and learning new material that I did not know. I really enjoyed picking a topic that I was really into and making a research essay. Meanwhile I was teaching others about the subject, I taught myself some material too. I taught the readers the significance behind Latinxs students and their struggle in the education category.
As I reflect on the MSW program at Sacramento State University, I am grateful for the experiences I was able to receive during my field work during both years in my MSW program. I am grateful for choosing a program that includes internship as part of the requirement. I truly believe that the field work we have been provided with has given us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and learn what being a social worker really means. The most challenging thing for me during the MSW program was starting my second year placement. It was my first time working in a medical environment and I did not know what to expect.
Last 2 months, I have learned a lot of stuff that I was not familiar with. I never learned how to think critically and did not know about elements of thought. I am glad I got an opportunity to attend the Command and General Staff Officer Course because I got to meet a lot of people with different branch, background and experiences. More importantly, I got to learn from others with a lot of experience and also, I get to share my knowledge and experience. The CGSOC made me think differently compare to prior to the attendance.
BaFa BaFa Reflection I believe that everyone has felt like an outsider or felt like they didn’t belong at least once in their lives. During this simulation it brought back many memories where I’ve felt like an outsider. For example, with me I felt like an outsider when my family decided to celebrate Christmas with people from my church like three or four years ago. The reason that I felt like an outsider was because the way these people from church celebrated Christmas was way different from the way my family has always celebrated it. I felt a little uncomfortable and out of place.
As I reflect on the past 15 months of attending CCU. I recall the excitement, and the overwhelming stress of having to work full time and attend online college. I was not sure that I could complete my degree at fifty years old. Because of being out of school for over 30 years. I was somewhat reluctant to give it a try.
