As we all know today’s school are a lot different than those in the 1960’s. During the 1960’s is was tradition to open each and every day with a nondenominational prayer, along with the Pledge of Allegiance. Today, prayer is accepted in schools as long as it is led by the student themselves, and not the teacher. In 1962 the case of Engel vs. Vitale went to the Supreme Court based off the idea of whether school sponsored prayer violates the First Amendment Establishment Clause. At this time there was a general law in New York State that required every school within the state to open each day with the Pledge of Allegiance, and a prayer that did not restrict denomination.
Again, this information is tremendously important to me because as a future educator I would want to do anything and everything that I possibly could to make sure that every student has what they need to succeed and love getting their education. Following this, in 1975 the IDEA,
4.1 Identify ethos, mission, aims and values of an educational setting Ethos: The ethos of an educational setting refers to the underlying culture, atmosphere, and values that inform the daily life of the institution. It reflects the principles, beliefs, and attitudes that guide the behaviour and interactions of its members, including staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders. Mission: The mission of an educational setting is a statement of its purpose and overall goal. It reflects the institution's commitment to delivering high-quality education and achieving specific outcomes. The mission statement should be concise, clear, and inspiring, and it should provide direction and focus for the institution's strategic planning and decision-making.
3). Her twelve principles of needs assessment; safety; sound relationships; sequence and reinforcement; praxis; respect for learners as decision makers; ideas, feelings, and actions; immediacy; clear roles and role development; teamwork and small groups; engagement; and accountability are based on theory that encourages transformative learning. They create a framework for a learning environment that is safe, respectful, empowering, and responsive to maximize learning. These principles, in tandem, engages the learner and makes the educational design comprehensive. They “begin, maintain, and nurture the dialogue” (Vella, 2002, p.
Modern society uses morals to fuel the decisions of daily life. These moral standards set society apart from the uncivilized creatures of the past. Yet the people of the modern day think if a moral does not directly “hurt” another individual, it’s not imperative for them to fallow. Due to this lack of compliance schools set up honor codes, protecting individuals who are targets of these heinous acts, and punishing the offenders. Without an honor code in place, a school cannot take justice for the individuals at fault.
The strategic purpose of school governors is to support the school in many ways. This includes, making sure there is a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction within the school. They support the head teacher and hold them accountable for the educational performance of the school and its pupils. They will oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is spent in the right areas. They will also carry out a number of other significant duties, which include the appointing and dismissing of staff, hearing appeals and grievances, forming policy on the school's curriculum, setting standards for pupils' behaviour and discipline and setting and monitoring the school's aims and policies.
I want to start about by saying I enjoyed the My Virtual Child program. There is nothing I disliked about it When I learned we would be doing this program for the class I was very excited! It was everything I thought it would be. I say this because it was more so hands on and it connected my readings in the book to what might be going on with an actual child in real life.
I noticed that after I finished my time monitoring sheet that, there is absolutely no reason for me not to complete my studies at GCU. I’m always available because I don’t have a job or children to take care of my only responsibility are my dogs. So now that I start school my biggest priority will be to do my school work and turn it in on time. But I did notice that I waste a lot of time doing nothing but, I guess that’s good in a way because now I can replace the time slots that I’m doing nothing, with studying so I can make better grades.
As a former AP Lang student, I feel that this class has been very beneficial for me in that it has allowed me to apply the techniques and strategies I learned last year toward more relevant subjects. Having the freedom of choosing topics to write about for our various essays made this class more enjoyable than the other English classes that I have taken. AP Lang focused heavily on the techniques of writing solid essays, but instead of writing about useful topics, we analyzed the short stories provided on the exams. Writing a personal narrative essay was very helpful in my college application process and allowed me to employ the same kind of strategies that I learned in class into my college essays.
Besides all the more under my personal code of ethics as an educational leader; I will shields students and staff from conditions unsafe to wellbeing and security; will secures the common and human privileges of all people; I will actualizes and obeys nearby, state, and national laws; I will respects all agreement until satisfaction or discharge. As I reflect on the past 15 months of attending CCU. I recall the excitement, and the overwhelming stress of having to work full time and attend online college. I was not sure that I could complete my degree at fifty years old. Because of being out of school for over 30 years. I was somewhat reluctant to give it a try.
1. B.F. Skinner: Behaviour modification Positive and negative reinforcements or rewards and punishments are used to modify or shape learner’s behaviour. B. F. Skinner’s entire system is based on operant conditioning. The organism is in the process of "operating" on the environment, which in ordinary terms means it is bouncing around its world, doing what it does. During this "operating," the organism encounters a special kind of stimulus, called a reinforcing stimulus, or simply a reinforcer.
Language: the language that teachers use has to be high level, which conveys a sense of professionalism that is honourable, moral and dignified. Professional judgement: the teacher should be able to place the needs of the students at the center of professional judgement. The teacher should be aware of his/her individual values, personal experience, commitment to authenticity, decision-making processes and work towards providing sound judgement. There is a school of thought which says that judgement grows with time and implies knowledge and wisdom, that teachers’ judgment improves with time. However, it is essential to ensure that all teachers possess a significant level of professional judgment.
Schools are the second place after home where students’ behavior and future educational success are shaped. At schools there are many elements or factors that can influence the teaching and learning process that may take place. Rasyid (2012) stated that there are four perennial truths that make the teaching and learning process possible to take place in the classroom. If one of these is not available, there will be no teaching and learning process, though the learning process itself may still take place, they are: (1) Teacher, (2) Students, (3) Material and (4) Context of time and place. All of them are related to one another.
